  1. Hello Everyone, This is my first posting and I am hoping that someone out there has had a similar problem and found a solution. About six months ago I went out one morning to fire up my Pathfinder and it started blowing white smoke out the tailpipe, a quick look under the hood confirmed a blown head gasket. I backed it back into the garage and shut it down. Over the next severel months I fixed the head gasket issue and all was well for about a week. I stopped on my way home and when I tried to start the engine after about 30 minutes it took some time before it caught and then it was running rough and the smell of gas was very strong, check engine light on. I limped it home, and have spent the last several weeks chasing the problem around the engine bay. I have replaced the coil, rotor, cap, plugs and wires. I have replaced the throttle position sensor and added an additional ground wire to the MAF sensor harness. Before I put a ton of money into this, I would really like to try and narrow the problem down. Since the head gasket issue I have always felt the engine was running a little on the rich side, but these periodic flooding episodes really have me stumped. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks, Phil
