  1. so my power steering works fine, doesn't leak and is full.. but when i put my pathy on a nose down steep angle the pump starts whining and grinding like its gonna explode.. i level the pathy out and it goes back to normal.. was really wierd, only thing i can figure is the pump is starting to go..

  2. heated the manual trans drain plug for 30 min before it would even attempt to budge, then i managed to strip it using the correct tool and a 34" breaker bar, so i used the wrong tool wedged in the squareish rounded hole with a mallet, and managed to get the plug out. i don't think its ever been out before,(219k miles) the gear oil came out like water. only has a hint of gear oil smell, not like a fresh bottle does. the truck was cold from sitting overnight in below freezing weather too so it shoulda been real thick. not many metal shavings on the plug. i have a good feeling its going to love the MT90 thats going in :) i pulled the shifter out first to make sure i could fill it.. new drain plug is going in too.. lol.. i'm scared to do the xfer case and diffs now..

  3. My wifes Prelude was doing the same thing this past summer. It turned out to be either the master or slave cylinder (went ahead and replaced both) for the hydraulic clutch system. I would start by checking the fluid reservoir for the clutch. If it is low, check for leaks.

    sentras have a cable clutch....

anyways, you can adjust it to where its comfortable for you.. if its adjusted one way or the other too far it will either slip, or it won't disengage when the pedal is pushed. Sentras like to stretch clutch cables to.. so if it feel like you have to adjust it alot cause the pedal is never consistent its prolly stretching and time for a new one before it breaks.

  4. the other thing i did this afternoon, was cut my catback off.. well it rotted off and was resting on the rear diff.. so it got taken off. then i found the cat to be half broken internally and rattling.. so i gutted it and put on a thrush super turbo muffler..

while its not really loud, i still rather have it really quiet (since is a 4cyl and annoying loud) so its gonna get a complete new exhaust in the next couple weeks.

  5. finished installing my sexy new seats.. my pathy now has more legroom too. with the seats all the way back i cannot touch the front of the floor or the pedals.. but they scoot far enough forward i can jam my knees into the dash.. i'm 6'2.. guess the rails have more travel in them than stock seats.. and the headreasts are useable now. i finally found a use for a hyundai.

the stain in the drivers seat came out, and last pic it was just wet.. all bolted in and solid. they got waterproof camo covers on them too.. might as well protect them..

  6. I put pictures up of the mounts for mine somewhere around here. It would be hard to diminution the mounts as they are curved. Someone good at fabbing should be able to take the pics and go from there just measuring how it would fit their truck. My bumper design looks like they make a generic bumper meant to fit any small truck and then make mounts for the different vehicles.

i saw those pics somewhere here but can't find them now, lol.. i can cut the curved shape out of a flat piece with a plasma cutter

  7. working on putting new seats in my pathy.. found some 2000 hyundai seats in the JY for $30. car had 68K on it and was wrecked so the seats were like new. they have nice daily driver type bolsters, almost match color wise just a little lighter, but they are gettin covers anyways..the backs are taller than the originals too, by like 5" so with me being 6'2 i can actually use a headrest and it doesn't hit me in the shoulders.

had to cut the mounts off as they were too wide, fabbed up some new mounts with 1" square tube and 1" flat bar for the bracket. pass side is almost done, just need to finish the front mounts. but its in the pathy and sitting right where the original was.

they'll be 500 times better than the stock worn out vinyl seats, lol.. i'll get picks tomorrow when i get them both in.

  8. LOL, I didn't quite mean to a 3D CAD level, but there's nothing wrong with that! :D

If you like, I can help on the CAD front, I have a version that I need to prectice with. If nothing else, just the mounting portion and primary bends should be enough to get most people started. :aok:

well i shouldn't have any bends at all.. the mounts can be cut out of flat plate and reinforced a litte.. maybe i should just make cardboard templates of the mounts and mail them out :) might be easiest

  9. Since you plan to build your own, I know that many people would appreciate if you dimensioned your build and shared it. Some people are strong with fab skills but without design experience. Totally up to you either way, of course.

    Good luck.

time to dig out my old autocad cd's...

i might be able to keep track of it..there will be lots of measurements... although i'm not makin any templates.. considering these bumpers are flat pieces of 3/16" steel tacked and cut at different angles to get the finished product, its super easy anyways.. the welder i have, the torch i do not.. i can almost get a plasma cutter for what a torch costs nowdays too.. decisions decisions.. :/

the front winch plate looks like the starting point and they are built out from that. once the outer skin is tacked and shaped whichever way its wanted, then it needs fitted to the pathy and mounts made, the mounts will be the challenging part. once thats figured out, reinforce the outer skin on the inside, weld it all up and bam, bumper.. i have a xrc10 winch at my disposal for measurements too along with my pathy..

i think the reason tag's bumpers are off a little bit this way and that way, is that they weld it all up too fast and in doing so the steel flexes when it gets hot. that will cause the 1/8th and 1/4" problems i read about.. poor skills imo..

  10. well since theey seem to be iffy at best with thier products, i'm just going to build my own.. i know its not hard. more or less time consuming.... materials are easily gotten as well.. I'm going to close the kma bumper.. maybe not exactly but will be close.. or else i'll borrow my dads wincher opff his jeep, its arb or smittybuilt and clone it..

    thanks all

  11. put in 8 new ngk gpower plugs, the previous owner had the wrong plugs in it :headwall: and since the cheapo plug wires were $30, i just bought the Accel universals and made my own for $36. a little more labor but way worth it.. the plug wires i replaced were the original wires for the truck :omg: they were so hard they cracked as bent them to take them off.. 218k miles..

but it runs nice now :)

  12. I do believe they used to be under the name of Kennesaw Mountian Accesoriess? Fab? Products? something like that. Anyways, some have had ok experiences with them, others not so well. Poor turn around time. Poor welds, Poor customer service, as a few examples. You might want to search a bit before deciding, just to be on the safe side.

No, I dont have one and have never delt with the directly. This is what I remember from previous members posting.

Do yourself a favor and do a Google search and see what you come up with. I did. You may not like what you find.

thanks for knowing the old name.. lol i woulda never known.. lots of bad rap for them.. i used to do fabrication for a living, but i don't have the tools for it now.. guess its time to buy the tools and fab up my own.. might be the same price in teh end and a whole lot less headache..

its funny after i posted this i was sitting at the gas station and an xterra pulled in next to me with one of thier bumpers.. i didn't like the way it didn't line up with anything.. up/down or sideways...

  13. i put new wiper blades on, filled it with gas, added a can of seafoam, checked gas mileage.. got 16mpg this tank, just around town and short trips like takin the kids to school and such.. (no complaints considering we have the winter ethanol blend crap)

going to play in the snow with it today too muuaha (yes i'll get a pic or 3)

  14. They make 6x9 subwoofers. They are very expensive though. They should fit in the stock location in the roof. You could also just get a 6" subwoofer with 4 ohm impedence, make a hole in the roof and just wire it in the the deck. This is, or rather, was my plan!

the roof doesn't make a very good "box" it will rattle and sound like crap.

  15. this is my setup.. amp was going to go behind the panel and box but it was physically too big.. getting a smaller amp to hide..

wouldn't say mysetup is hidden tho..just custom.. it takes up less room than the spare tire, doesn't stick out any farther than my fenderwell.. and hold a 10" sub. if i turn it up, it will rearrange all my mirrors for me.. too much for my taste, hence getting a smaller amp..
