  1. I had a buddy that was having all sorts of charging issues on his truck. turned out it was a loose cable. Make sure all of your connections are snug. He had some power wire that I think went to the alternator that was coming apart. Maybe one of yours is coming loose as it heats up.

  2. Great looking truck, they DO look great with fat tires and a mild lift. I have to say I'm extremely jealous of your spare tire carrier.. Mine mounts under the rear bumper area :(

    Good work!

Thanks! Yeah the rear tire carrier sure is convenient. If it makes you feel better I have to buy all new tires tomorrow. Seems the used ones I bought were all dry rotted. I am going with BFG A/T same size as these. Still $300 is a good deal for just the rims. Now I will be paying close to $900 for tires :headwall:

  3. sweet looking pathfinder!! how much lift didi that kit give? what all comes in that lift kit? cuz im thinking bout lifting my 96 but aint sure.. i got 31's on it now with it stock

Sadly I did not measure the truck before I did the lift but I went from stock saggy springs and 30 inch tires to the OME springs and 32s. It is safe to say I got in the neighborhood of 3 inches overall. I have heard people getting anywhere from 1.25 to 2 inches with OME. I guess it all depends how bad your stock springs are. I did the cheap lift. I only bought the coils. It cost me $330 shipped. Rugged rocks <- This is the site I got them from.

If you are not the type to do this work yourself you may want to wait till you can do it all (springs and shocks/struts) at once and save on labor.

Oh and thanks for the nice words about the pathy. I really love the way she rides now!

  4. Thank you. I need to take measurements this week. The one bad thing is with the tires being used I am not sure how long they have been sitting. I had a blow out last night on one and already had to replace it. So I will probably wind up replacing them all at some point. The cool thing is the truck barely budged when the tire blew. I was doing over 50 mph too. These springs are working out quite nice.

  5. I'm still working to save up and get that lift, but my sliders have saved me from some carnage already. Definitely a wise investment!

I can imagine. I just need to learn how to weld or find a shop in town to throw them on.

  6. Nice job! Did you do it yourself? Not a big fan of the wheels, but to each their own. LOVE the black paint!

Yeah I did it with a buddy. took about 6 hours. Mostly due to us wanting to pass out half way through. I live in Phoenix.

  7. What size tires? Any rubbing?

    Pathfinder ATR 32 11.50 R15s with 3.5 backspacing.

Yeah I have slight rubbing up front on sharp turns right now. I just need to get under there and remove the mud flaps and modify a couple of the plastic pieces. Other then that they fit like a Glove.

  8. I installed my springs and new tires last night.

OME HD up front and MD in the rear

Sadly I was so excited to get started I forgot to take before measurements.

Here is s a few before pics.

  9. Yes. I remember this stage in my lift process. The worst part was just looking at my short Pathy and imagining what it was "about" to look like.

I do this every day! I have already removed the side steps! Once I get the lift I want to get some 31's, skid plates, rock sliders and manual hubs. some day I want a snorkel just to say I have one.

  10. My truck has no cancer if by cancer you mean rust. We are spoiled in AZ like that. But I have decided to keep them on. I just need to bring them back to life a little. They have gotten dull. The curse of AZ. The sun is a killer on paint.

  11. My tensioner shred in my R50. the bolt did not break but it made for a real loud clanking noise. I was lucky enough to not snap the belt. These motors are interference motors like you mentioned. You slapped pistons into valves and bent them. Bent valves = 0 compression. Heads will have to be gone through. Sorry to hear about it.
