  1. Me neither, so my previous post was very mild. What he really should do is sell the gas-hog truck, spend $1500 to buy an early 90's beater Saturn (35mpg, OBD1 = not much electronic crap to fail, easy and cheap to repair, and will run forever). Use the cash from that plus the mod money to double up on classes for two or three semesters, and get done with college in 2.5 - 3 years (or graduate with a Masters in 4).
  2. I hate to be a party pooper, but... first semester in college, money is tight, and you want to spend two grand lifting and modding a truck? You inherited a paid-off car in good condition, you're better off than most folks headed to college. Put the cash in the bank, or take out smaller student loans, or use it to pay for a few extra courses that loans / financial aid won't cover to graduate half a semester early. Get through college and into your chosen profession as quick as you can, so you can make "the big bucks", get your loans paid off, and then buy whatever kick-ass offroad vehicle you want. Just my two cents, having been there and done that.
  3. What size inline filter did you use? The barbs I have are brass, rated for 150psi (couldn't find a temperature rating) - will these work or do I need to look for something tougher?
