  1. Does anyone know how to tell what model a carby is if it doesn't have a number on it?
  2. not much till roadworthy... cant wait to have her on the road...

  3. nah lost those a while ago... they are now housed in a silk purse, in my other half's possession... don't think i will be seeing them again...
  4. nah mine is a pov-pack... no cruise here... getting a carby kit for it... see what happens... just hope i dont loose the little balls out of this one
  5. Been going through the vacum lines to find blockage's and leaks... Not a lot of difference... Dropped by 100 rpm
  6. Any advice on tuning the OEM carby on a Z24 motor... Runs fine but idles at 2000 rpm... Adjusting the idle screw back any further only causes the engine to die.... I have slackened the throttle cable back, so it is not interfering with it... The only thing I can think of is the choke isn't coming off... Any other advise would be awesome... It has been at least ten years since I have had to play with carbs...
  7. i am going to purchase them and see how it goes... will post the results...
  8. Extractors, headers, manifold... Same thing... Just want to know if they are different or not...
  9. Ok... I am going to go with 2" body and suspension lifts... Still going to put UCA's in for reliability and movement range... 32" tyres should still fit...
  10. Do you need adjustable trailing arms for the rear diff for 3" lift... You get UCA's but wouldn't you need trailing/control arms for the rear?
  11. Extractors are a high flow exhaust manifolds used to increase speed of exhaust gasses over a OEM manifold... Dunno what you guy's call them then... As my original question stated will the "extractors" from a Z24 with 4 spark plugs fit a Z24 with 8?
  12. Thanks for The replys lads... but I was wanting to know if the exhaust manifold from a single spark engine will fit on a twin spark motor... I can get a set for cheap but they are from a engine with only 4 plugs... my Z24 has the 8 plugs with 4 in the exhaust ports...
  13. Depends on weather you have fuel injection or carb... If you want to run high grade fuel you will have to change your spark timing and carby settings to take advantage of the increased octane... With EFI the computer should make the changes for you inside it's preset rates, providing all the sensors are in working order (nok, O2, map/ air speed, air temp, etc). If they are not, then the computer will revert to a factory preset... After that you will need your computer remapped... I myself have tuned my Z24 carb and spark for 98 octane... The advantages of higher rate fuels are cleaner burn and more bang for your buck... I do getting better mileage from the better fuel and if tuned correctly your emissions should be either the same or lower... Remember I am in Australia and we pay more for fuel ( about $1.60 per liter aus, $1.71 for 0.264 gallon u.s.)
  14. Waiting on the last few parts to arrive... Anyone want to help with the welding and bog work?

  15. How do you go with wear in the cv joints and suspension with the big lift and big tyres?
  16. Does anyone know if the extractors from a Z24 single spark will fit a Z24 twin plug?
  17. Hey everyone, From Gladstone in central Queensland... I am new to the forum and the pathfinder...
  18. Hey everyone... I am chasing a set of 1" body blocks and a bit of information on who makes the best value for money suspension lift kit? I live in Australia but freight out of the USA isn't a issue... Just need to be able to get on the web site and pay by credit card... I used to have ironman torsion bars in my 720 and they where great, but as with anything there is a lot more on offer now...
  19. G'day, I am new to the pathfinder community... Just purchased a WD21 1988 Z24 twin spark... Will get photos up when I get her on the road... I am looking forward to conversing with you all and hopefully giving a little of my own experience to some...
