  1. "I'd go with the 02, seeing as the VQ had been around for a while already and a lot of the SES complaints had been cleared for that model year." Can you explain what you mean by SES complaints? Thanks.
  2. I'm pretty sure the 02 had no AWD. I think you guys are right in going with the 01. The guy said he would throw in the Thule rack and accessories and since there are new parts and less miles the 01 seems more logical. Thanks...
  3. What about the AWD vs the 4wd. I honestly didn't like the AWD that Toyota did with their 2000 and 2001 4runner which they later abandoned. Have you heard of any issues with the AWD with the pathfinders? Thanks...
  4. New to the forum, have a 97 4runner and selling to get a newer pathy. I am looking at an 01 or an 02 and will probably commit to a purchase by thursday. Of the 2 trucks I am looking at, both auto, both LE, 01 is silver and has AWD in addition to 4wd if I am correct. The 02 has just 4wd. 02 has 125k and the 01 has 110k. Both are for $9500. Do you guys have a preference between these years and if so why? The 01 has new monroe shox, new boots and front axle's, front brakes are new and tires are less than a year old. The window won't auto up on the 01 and the cd changer is shot. Links to the trucks are below if you want to check them out. http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...max_price=11000 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_...max_price=11000
  5. Hi everyone. Wanted to introduce myself before my questions begin to roll. My name is Doug and I currently am a Toyota guy, thinking it's might be time to change things up a bit. I have a 97 4runner 3rd Generation Limited that just broke 100k. Actually it's my wifes primary ride but it's my snowboarding mobile when needed. After a recent snowboard trip to Wolfcreek CO, I am thinking about selling the runner and getting a newer pathfinder 2001 or 2002. Cost of both vehicles is about the same with similar mileage but the pathy being newer and having better safety ratings. It' feels a bit strange leaving the Toyota and going Nissan. I have always had Toyota's but feel the Nissan is a pretty capable and reliable vehicle. Pathfinders I have looked at have had 90 to 120 k on the clock so I have been researching the reliability factor. I don't know much about the auto tranny in the pathfinder which makes me nervous. I have read about the o2 sensors and the dreaded cd changer bose/clarion issue. I need to know more about the drivetrain. I have noticed that some of the pathys have push button or turn button rather 4wd. Some have the manual stick you pull to select the mode in the transfer case. Some of the autos seem to have AWD and some do not. Toyota 4runners have an AWD function only in the 2000 and 2001 and then they seemed to abandon it. Is this what Nissan did? Search function is good but not as much content on this site as I am used to seeing on the yotatech forum for the Toyota 4runners. Regardless, there seems to be a good pool of Pathy knowledge here and I look forward to soaking some of it up. Thanks to all who have contributed, Hope everyone has a great 2007. Doug. 505Pathy...
