  1. Indeed. I also miss the throttle cable from my old SC 5-speed Xterra, the control was wonderful.
  2. A guy I know put an EVCX into his VK swapped Frontier and came to me, raving about it, along with a video and how well it works. I'm sold. I know with my V8 and the 90mm TB she can be jump and does worry me about tine control for off-roading. This will likely resolve that problem. I've also been concerned about DBW throttle for off-road and really liked my cable throttle in my old X for vehicle control. This may be just what I need.
  3. Not a problem. I'm also seeing your post in the R50 section and the replies in there. I kinda went through the same thing. The first V8 I drove was a bit beat up, especially for the price. I ended up passing on it but liked the truck so shopped around for one in good shape and had mine literally shipped from across the country. I never thought about being had by a smell tho. I hate smoker cars. Sometimes you need to remove plastic panels to get all the smell and tar cleaned up to help with the smell. I haven't spent much time in an R50 but the seats in my R51 are my favourite. It`s the perfect road trip vehicle except for it's fuel consumption. While I really miss my Xterra the more the R51 gets caught up in mods the less I miss it. Part of me wishes I made the switch years before, that's how much I like it, but I do miss the manual 5-speed and the direct throttle cable, but it's a worthwhile trade off to get the V8 power, especially for towing. The IRS is kinda annoying for lifts. I'm also double-locked now so any disadvantages of the IFS/IRS should be negated. Replacing the radio is also much more complicated and expensive, but I`m happy that it's finally done and have Android Auto in it. You can tell Nissan's paint quality isn't the same as in previous years. I do really like the heated steering wheel. I know there were comparisons that the R50`s interior is better then the R51. I kinda agree. I didn`t like the gen2 Xterra and Frontier cause it felt cheap, but the R51 is just nice enough. My old Xterra did have a sunroof, which isn't on the gen2, so I'm really happy to have one in the R51, and a two-way as well.
  4. I can't exactly compare, but myself I went from a gen1 Xterra Supercharged to my V8 R51. I want to say that an Xterra is a bit smaller then the R50 but not by much, but my Xterra had a 2 inch body lift and a 3 inch suspension lift where the R51 almost matched it in size. Size wise I didn't feel much of a difference except in the length in the back. The size, extra width inside was actually nice. For drivability I don't think the extra size is that significant and would be adapted as if you were just changing to and different vehicle. If you were getting into an Armada however, that's a whole different boat.
  5. Looking for those in countries that have it, I'm looking for some ST-L badges that were had overseas on select trim of the R51. Unsure if the Patrol or R52 had the same badges.
  6. You guys didn't get the Titan pickup? The M205 is easily to source in North America, but the hard part would be the cost to getting it shipped. You can use V8 Pathfinder axles if you want to use an M205 in a truck that you have not yet, or will not do a Titan/Armada front suspension swap.
  7. I guess I should actually saw hello. I registered back in 2011 but I had bought my 2003 Xterra (supercharged 5-speed) and lingered around for stuff and information, as well as having a few friends here. I have since retired my Xterra back in 2021 and bought a V8 Pathfinder as it`s replacement and been working hard over the years to get it modified as a proper Xterra replacement
  8. Way late, but I don`t belive the supercharged motor existed in Japan at all. It was installed in Xterra and Frontier trucks and overseas the got the turbo diesel options that North American didn`t get. Mind you the parts aren`t that huge and the motor isn`t that special where you could get someone from Canada/USA to get you the SC parts and install it onto an VG33 as they`re well built for it. Plenty are supercharging their NA motors.
  9. I found a calulator for tire size vs diff ratio and found that going to my 285/70r18`s I would need a ratio of 3.13 to compensate, so going to 3.36 from the Armada/Titan is plenty, but I have seen others do the 3.54 and 3.69 from European trucks. I finally got my TRE E-Lockers in a few months ago and the`re wonderful. I haven`t used them much yet but on it`s first official outting I broke my rear driveshaft, likely from some previous damage which I don`t believe was me, but I was double-locked and bounced the truck when it happened. I`m honestly affraid to head back out until I get skid plates installed. There`s been much argument against converting to a steel driveshaft.
  10. TRE also makes them in electric, but also makes both for the 2.9/3.36 gears as well.
