No sensors were harmed while filming this snorkel install.

I used ABS, it seems solid and I tested it for leaks, I will be testing it in a lake here shortly, I lost my last pathy to the same lake sans snorkel. I send some photos of me either dead in the water or raising my victory hands.

I installed this snorkel setup today http://www.geocities.com/pathfinderoffroad/snorkelmod.html After the installation my nissan is running very rich, i.e. fuel smell from exhaust. It also revs a bit different than it used to. I think it feels quicker up to 4500 RPM but after that it lags going up to 5500-6000. Any ideas on how I can correct this, or does anyone think anything is wrong? I may just be freaking out about nothing. I know that there is an interesting air chamber that is removed to install the snorkel what exactly does this box do? (there is a pic of it if you follow the above link) Thanks, Joe

I modified my rear tire carrier with for a couple of reasons. First of all I got sick of my rear tire dragging when I climb very steep inclines and second to clear room for a double gas/water can set up next to it. The picture shows what it looks like after the fact but I basically cut out the original mounting plate, took off the piece that the tire mounts to (the bolted on piece) and welded it all the way on the top one gap over from the stock location. Its not too noticable of a mod but I haven't dragged my spare for awhile and as soon as I save up the 30 bucks for a couple of gas cans from the local military surplus shop I'll have them mounted.

Ok I'm working on the write up, but here is a teaser for you guys.

Nice, I just got my 3" body lift done yesterday. The guys at Discount Tire offered me 4 tires with black steelys for 1300.00 or someting around thier. Those are BF goodrich M/Ts. They offer them on credit, the no intersst/no payment deal so tempting, but I will have to wait.

Is anyone else planning to attend this event? I will be going with my brother and his in laws who are loaded and all have new jeeps (my brother rocks an old cherokee me and him ahve been hacking apart), going to show them what a real machine can do. Anyhow if any other pathfinders are going to be there I'd love to check out your rigs.

Alright I just got my 3" body lift for my 1990 pathy and will begin installation this weekend. I figure I would add photos and details of the whole procedure to help out anyone who plans on doing this in the future. Look back Monday for a progress report.

Okay, After a long search I found this post with the A/T diagnostic. It is now in my posession anyone who needs it may find it here - http://npora.ipbhost.com/index.php?s=&showtopic=1580 Also if it ever gets lost I have a hard copy and can get one to you.

I will update you guys on my fix once I get this problem figured out. In the meantime does anyone have a transmission diagnostic guide? I remeber seeing one somewhere on the internet but I haven't ever been able to find it again. If someone know the whereabouts of one I would appreciate it. I need to determine what the blinking during start up means. Thanks

So since the forum was down I had to act. I took it back to the shop to discuss what was happening. Heres what we came up with, the computer can overide the shift lever as a safety feature if the RPMS are too high for a given period of time. The interesting thing about my shift problem is that if I turn the vehicale all the way off and turn it back on it will go back into first. So somehow the CPU is telling my trans to go into second but it won;t let it go back into first once it has done so. I did get an aftermarket cooler put in when I got the rebuild. I have to take my pathy out in the hills tommorow to double check and make sure it is not the linkage that prevents it from dropping into first gear. I hope it is the linkage if not I'm stuck. I typically manually put the lever into first when I climb or descend a hill, so we will see.

Hello, I have a 1990 Pathy with an AT and I seem to be having trouble keeping it in 1st gear. I just had the transmission rebuilt and I could't tel you how it shifted before that I bought it aware of the need for a transmission rebuild. Anyhow I can't get it to go into first gea all the time which is killing me coming down big hills especially in the snow. It won't go into 1st so I'm not getting my crawler gear. My question is to see if anyone has a way to force the transmission into first gear. Maybe a cheater switch that would force it into or if anyone knows if there is an adjustment. I do have the E-AT switch which keep sit in 1st for awhile but it seems like after its warmed up it will stay in second. Any advise would help its embarrasing trying to climg a hill in 2nd and just plain scary trying to roll down a hill at 35 MPH.
