  2. Hi. i have a 96 pathfinder se. since the temperature here has dropped i have had a squealling sound coming from the front of the engine. not sure that the temperature has anything to do with the sound but i figured it may be relavent. it does not sound like a belt squeal. it changes with engine rpm, but when i get to the higher rpm range and the fan kicks on the sound goes away. any one have any ideas on what it could be? i was thinking it could be the fan clutch but really not sure. any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg
