  1. I've sent parts to Canada, Puerto Rico, New Zealand, etc and it isn't always that bad.

    Just trying to help.

Sorry, that looks snarky online but it isn't directed at you, I just hate hate hate all of the stupid brokerage fees / duties we get dinged with up here. I.e. shipping for my 4x4parts.com order was $130ish and then I still had to pay $55ish when it was delivered to my door

If the seller is willing to ship I'm going to check and see how much it'll cost, thanks for pointing me at that thread!

    :takebow:

  2. More fuel for the fire, but I threw what I "think" I'd need after buying the jeep springs and I have this:

    Pathfinder Upper Control Arms

    $205.00USD

    Pathfinder Torsion Bars

    $210.00USD

    Rancho RS5000 Front Shock

    $85.00USD

    Rancho RS5000 Rear Shock

    $85.00USD

    Sub-Total: $585.00USD

I wonder how that would stack up to their $700 kit?

  3. So I've found a couple of jeep grand cherokees at local yards, the v8 variety, now I could get the springs on the cheap, but is it worth it in the long run? By the time I grab the springs, I'd also need new shocks, ucas, and likely torsion bars too right?

This https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-suspension-package-p-64.html kit is $715 us, and I assume I'll pay another $150ish in shipping.

Has anyone put together a kit as complete as this using jeep springs and then just ordering ucas etc?

Sorry if this has been covered in another thread!

  4. Well, I ordered a new centerlink from Uap Napa, which I'll run while I send my worn core to Grassroots for a proper setup.

As far as why I bought this kit, I know I'm going to be fitting a suspension lift at some point along with bigger tires so I figured I'd try to knock out as many of the "weaknesses" before I got too far and had to constantly replace worn / broken parts.

I think I ended up paying $243.40USD for the body lift and the steering stabilizer with the idler arm brace. Mind you that's before shipping!

  5. All kidding aside, I'm hoping this isn't going to be too loud / obnoxious, I'm going to be running this setup

along with a magnaflow muffler and I'm thinking 2 1/4" pipe. Anyone have anything similar? I guess if it's too much I'll just have to throw a thrush or a cherry bomb glasspack in line somewhere to quiet it down.

  6. I'll try to find the site I used when I had to replace my door handle. Someone had made a step by step process of taking the door apart for speakers and I found it really usefull. Once you have everything apart it's pretty easy to swap the actual handles out.

  7. I don't think I've ever heard of an alternator draining a battery when it's not on. I wonder if some of the insulation inside of it corroded or worn down, glad to hear you're getting sorted out!

  8. Ouch that looks evil man, looks like a really clean rig too!

I watched someone run into the side of my Pathy once in a lifted f250, I was walking out of the grocery store, and saw it happening so I started to run in case they tried to drive away. Then I noticed that all that was touching were my spare tire carrier hinges were digging down the side of the truck box. All that was damaged on my end was some paint scraped off of my hinges :D

Anywho, good luck getting everything fixed up!

  9. That's a tough call, but I'm a bit biased :P Audi = <3

  10. Thanks guys! I've been reading posts for hours and I keep learning more about what I can do to my rig. I'm very much a hands on type, and armed with the pretty detailed diy's you have in here I'm confident I can get work done!

Rusted hood eh? I'll see if I can find pictures of my spare hood I had on my jetta.. hahah I had a rusted hood and trunk lid for a while. That was when I learned the value of air craft stripper! that stuff is insane!

  11. Thanks! that's the info I was wondering about, I've read bits and pieces of people mentioning changing steering box, but I wasn't sure if that's something absolutely needed or theirs has just worn out. So those two mods and I'll be ok for a suspension lift without completely screwing my alignment?

  12. So I ordered this:

    Steering Enhancement Package

    SKU: SPAC1STABPKGRANCHOPF

    https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/steering-enhancement-package-p-2578.html

    and

    Pathfinder 3 Inch Body Lift

    SKU: SPBL405395

    https://www.4x4parts.com/nissan/pathfinder-inch-body-lift-p-277.html

After reading the forums here I have an idea of what to expect as far as install goes, what I'm wondering is, if I were to pick up one of the serious built centerlinks from the member who builds them, would I have a steering setup that can support some offroading?

  13. Hahaha the pics I posted do make it look like I live in Soviet Russia (no offense!)

And yes, the Pathy did come from NJ, my boss bought it new from the dealer when he lived there. I'm the second owner with all of the service reciepts so it's in really good shape considering how quickly the east coast winters eat vehicles. I noticed a thumb size hole in the rear frame above the rear tire so I just boxed the entire rear in to make sure it's proper now :D

So here's a nice sunny one from last halloween, when I painted a spare hood I had for my gti:
