  1. Just a thought ,

What about the hilux transfercase with the separate disc handbrake on the back ?

thanx, but just think b as hard to set up a handbrake on the discs, thinkn i might have to run a turbo 350 or 400 box and adapt the patrol transfer, but ill look into that forum 1st,one more thing does anyone know of where i could get some very big fibreglass flares, like 5"wide,dam this 4be costing some buks, could of bought a new 1,wouldnt be the same but.luv me pathfinder.ha

  2. Good idea Dave .

When i googled ( C4 Auto to Patrol Transfercase ) it gave a link to the outerlimits forum which 1 bloke had done the conversion with a custom adaptor made for him . Tried Marks adaptors and they don't have anything , have you thought about a commodore auto ?

Thanks guys, ill look into that forum.the problems not where the handbrake lever is ,the actual handbrake mech is on the transfer case.as u said i could use a turbo 350 or 400 and castlemaine rod shop do a adaptor, and marks do a adaptor to a patrol transfer from that,i was hopin that i could somehow just find a kit from c4 to patrol, couldnt be that easy hey.ha.suks they dont run a handbrake in the rear brakes on these gu diffs.ill get there, getting very frustratin with everyone else out 4x4n.thanx guys

  3. Hey guys,im having so much trouble tryin to set up this c4 auto to a patrol transfer.I will get it done somehow but any ideas or herd of anyone doin or done such a conversion be gr8 help.If i have to do to a remote transfer then my handbrake will be a prob.I can buy a manual conversion but want it auto.i just wana go out n play in the mud again.ha

  4. Stew , yes you are correct with mines allready engineered and that NSW is a pain in the a*se for legal mods . My engineer was very strict with 1200mm to the top of the headlight ( not the middle ) and i couldn't go the gu rear diff cause it's disc brakes and mine is drum originally without doing a brake and lane change test . He said it would be easier for me to get passed with putting a Pathy body onto a Patrol chassis ??? . My mods are nearly finished with a few bits to come and to help what i have done work better :jig: . I was just curious if you were doing these mods with an engineer :aok: .

engineer just drops in as i need him to our workshop, this project prob b 1 of our most fun when it finnished, cant wait
  5. G'Day Stew ,

    Looks good Man ,

Which State are you in ? , just interested with engineering stuff .

hey there,in nsw, prob one of the hardest states for keeping it legal, all ok sofar, got a engineer that stops by and checks i goin ok,before this overhaul the cops pulled me over all the time, had standard diffs 3"lift and 2" body lift,33s.my offset on the rims were 2 big to.this build i want legel.lot of rules.getting within them all but.cant wait till it in 1 peice again.around the $200hr for the engineer.my wheel track now goes to gu patrl specs, just gota use the 5"flares to cover each wheel. and as for the running gear there fine with that to .suspension is all gu patrol standard and grafted all the factory patrol mounts on,sits so big cause of chassis shape difference, cant go any higher than 1.2m to centre of headlight.just made it.ha.these are pics from when i started, ill getsome up 2 date 1s asap.let me know of what mods you planning and ill ask him when he here next.from what i beleive, engineers are recognised australia wide in all states now.just had a look at ya 4be specs.you would prob have that aproved already anyway ?

  6. Sorry I didn't mean to start something. I do want to see a V8 swap done and how it works with everything else. I'm just a fan of reliable 300 hp and 20+ mpg V8's :my2cents:

I mean if you have a solid engine and tranny to use, then by all means!

how ya goin guys,im half way trough doin my 3rd overhaul on the pathfinder, got inj 302,c4 bolted in now, having trouble with transfer but work it out as i go,anyone else got it done already?

  7. Na Man it didn't work , Dave do you know how to fix this ?

hey there,i put tha pics on photobucket,.ill work it ou on tha weekend .tryin so hard ta get this 4be back on the road by summer, missing it.still trying to work out what transfer to use, also trying to find pics of all the aussie parthfinders?

  8. hey guys,u tell me if u get these old pics?PhonePictures036.jpg939.photobucket.com/albums/ad234/c6auto/stewartsPhonePictures028.jpgcom/albums/ad234/c6auto/stewartspics020.jpg[/img]pics019.jpg[/img][/img]if so ill get sum up 2 date ones.so tired still at work.this 2 hard, just done 16hrs today, tryin ta get back onto my 4be tis weekend.takin 4eva.ha

  9. Theres one for sale over here, its green with white fenders and hoods and a blue ali bull bar.

hey guys, just joined up couple days ago,gr8 site.good to see there some pathfinder lovers here.half way through my second overhaul on the d21,thought id go all the way this time, cant wait to be back on the road again, ill try and see where everyone is and what yas have got out there.nobody is into pathfinders around here there all patrol and cruiser boys.building this one ta show them what it can do.lol.hopefully talk soon

  10. as far as i know, atlas only makes it to go to a chev tranny to the nissan case.

a better more cost effective way would to be put a Dana 300 out of a jeep behind it. does your C6 have a 6 bolt round patern? if so, deffinatley go this route

it does have 6 bolt patern, does the transfer to the front come out on the right hand side?and what here in australia would have this transmission.i have some american import contacts.maybe they could help.

  11. 87 is right, although Atlas does make adapter plates for just about anything...I used them exclusively for a 4.3 Chevy swap into a XJ. They provided all the parts to do the install.

thanks mate, ill get on there site and see what they got.

  12. Pictures please, how the heck did you shoe horn that into the engine bay?

soon as i work out how ta put the pics on i will, engine and trans fit nice, got 2" body lift just to help a bit,had engineer here yesterday cause trying to keep it regestered n on road,he happy with it sofar, still fair way ta go with it.should be fun.suspension has lifted it nearly 15".and these patrol diffs hopefully hold up for me.starting day now so ill see if can do tonight.talk soon

  13. Ive got a 5L ford injected motor fitted in my 91 D21 pathfiner, running a c4 auto, need to adapt a nissan patrol transfer case, any ideas or know of someone who has,got patrol diffs in and coil suspension, even a different gearbox and transfer case combo but front diff center is now on right hand side,so transfer to the front has to.even a remote transfer?any ideas will help heaps.thanks
