  1. It started off whenever I would make a pretty fast turn, the ABS and handbrake light would turn on while turning and turn off when the car straightened out. It felt almost like a traction control light or something haha. Well now it seems like most turns make the lights turn on and they stay on for 10-30 seconds after the turn. anyone know what this is and how I should go about dealing with it?

  2. I believe it's something about their 3.0 head gaskets blowing a lot. at least that's what i've read on these threads. i personally like 4runners as well. my dad had one with some beefy tires and a nice lift. i learned to drive stick on that thing, i felt all bad ass hahaha.

  3. i usually use a p90 with the bling perk so i can use a silencer AND a red dot sight. i use that with the commando and lightweight perks and i'll be running around getting kills all over the map

as long as my internet connection doesnt start lagging though....

    lmao =]

  4. haha nice. i'm always wanting to hit a trail but i need at least some A/T tires and the Jeep lift haha.

have u ever been to hungry valley or passed it? i always pass it on the 5 right before the 99 whenever i've gone up north or to bakersfield, or delano.. it seems to have pretty decent trails.

and thats cool are u gonna get to go to sema?

  5. thanks for the heads up. i dont have either of them, i'm just taking intro to automotive services this semester. if i like it i'll take more next semester.

yeah that was my plan, i would like some new UCAs to though. My whole front suspension is in pretty sorry shape, it makes me wanna just get a solid axle in the front haha

that's cool i'd be down to go sometime, i havent really gone offroading at all cuz none of my friends are into it. they all have corollas and @!*% haha. i wouldnt wanna get stuck on my own either. and a winch would be rad.

    where do u work at?

  6. yeah i registered to that already :D

i always wanted to go to uti but it seemed a bit pricey so for now imma take the auto tech classes and see if workin on cars is for me.

that would be cool dude, i'm planning on getting a body lift, some suspension lift, and some armor on it(grille guard, rock sliders, back bumber). i need a job first so i can save up for that stuff lol. but for the suspension i just need some new coils and crank the torsion bars a bit so that's prolly goin on first.

    do u go wheelin often?

  7. WOOOO!!! i cleaned the maf and it seems to have done the job for now. i started it off and the idle was higher than usual but it went back to normal. i'll see if its back to normal next time i cold start the engine. i drove around and got the engine warmed up and it didnt stall on me nor did the idle sputter and recover like it did before at stop lights. power seems a bit drained but i think it's always been like that i just forgot haha. a tune up should help out with that slightly. i'll report if any problems come up but thanks for the help..

  8. i'll check that out bonez. but first, i managed to get the maf sensor off, now one of the wires looks kinda fishy to me, its kind of warped or bent, it doesnt look too bad and it seems to have solid connection to the two poles but idk if it will affect the sensors performance. i'm trying to get pics up but my memory card reader doesnt wanna work -_-

oh and the carbon canister has a part at the bottom that comes off kind of easily. it connects to a rubber hose that leads to the air box. now i got it to stick on good but it seems to leak air out. is that a big deal or not??

im really sorry for all the questions but im a youngster, and thats what these forums are for after all right?? lol! ;)

thanks in advance u guys. this is helpin me out a lot.

  9. Just skimming through this and didn't see posted what I thought made removing the bottom screw A LOT easier.

Unhook the maf and open the air filter box, you can use a regular screwdriver that way and get way better leverage.

    X2

  10. i got another one for u guys..

can there be any damage done by removing the carbon canister?

and i really f*cked up the bottom screw on the MAF sensor and idk how to fix it, i dont have a dremil just basic tool set and i'm stumped tryin to get it off
