Anyone have any experience with this? The MIL lighthas been on in my 97 SE since I bought it a few months ago. Buought a code checker and it shows code P0046 which indicates EVAP. I tried googling it for info and says most likely insect blcokage, oring or bad vents. Just wondering if anyone has come across this and what the problem was. Search here didn't turn up anything. Need a new reomote for my 97 SE. Scouring Ebay almost all say will work for all FCCID KOBUTO3T. Of course mine says KOBUTO2T. An aftermarket supplier says they replace any that start with KOB. Anyone know if the 3 and 2 are interchangeable? TIA Dave 97 Pathfinder SE

Recently picked up a 97 SE with only 40K, my first Pathfinder . Its in great shape but I've been getting a clunking sound from the front end thats driving me crazy. It sounds like the exhaust is banging against something (its not, I checked) and seems to be coming from the right front though sometimes it sounds and feels like its from right under the gas pedal. It's a loose clunking sound, almost like something is swinging and banging against the chasis and seems to be worst over smaller bumps and unsmooth road surfaces. Also most noticeable at slower speeds. I looked underneath a few times and can't find anything unusual. Everything seems tight and all bushings look ok. I'm thinking maybe its the struts. Is there anything I should be looking at that may be common on this model? The car is nice and tight except this loose clunking noise any its driving me crazy. If anyone could point me at places to look it would be greatly appreciated. TIA Dave

Thanks for the suggestion. Will try and get a couple of pics taken tomorrow. Its not worth the trouble to drill them out and they don't need to be tapped. I just need to get them off and replace it with a nut and bolt. I'm thinking of either grinding down the stud bolt head around the edge where it would be welded to the flange or just reusing it and having someone tac weld a nut to it with the new intermediate pipe on. I'm leaning toward the latter. Dave

Crap, just what I didn't want to hear. Yes its the stud bolts on the 2 front downpipes that connects to the cat. It goes through the front and intermediate pipe flange and points front to rear. I assumed you could just punch them out with the nuts removed. Now it looks like I may have to bring it to a shop or welder. Dave

Just picked up a 97 Pathfinder SE in mint shape with only 39K. Needed an exhaust so I picked up a Bosal to install. After hours under the car and lots of swearing I finally got the old system off. I removed the intermediate pipes from the front pipes by breaking the nuts off with a chiesel. Anyway now that I have everything off I can't get the 2 studs off each of the front pipes. I've tried soaking it in PB Blaster, heating it with a torch, and have been banging away at it with metal mallet and none of them will budge. Are they threaded into the front pipe? I hope not and can't see why they would be. It would also make it almost impossible to get off since its rusted in place and there's really no head to grip to turn it. I'd just leave it and use new nuts but I mutilated the treads chiseling the the nuts off. My gut feeling is I have to keep hitting them, maybe with a bigger hammer and they will eventually come off.
