  1. Cool, I'd like to see some pics when you get a chance. I hope to lift mine soon. I'm leaning towards the Bilstein adjustables in the front and lift springs in the back. As for the forum, I know what you mean. Pretty dead around here regarding R51s. I found this place last week, you should check it out. There's a lot more people into them there. My link
  2. Hey, I saw this on another Pathy site and the trails look like a lot of fun. Let me know what ya'll think. My link
  3. I'll leave that in your hands. I don't know anything about the area. I'm still stock, so nothing too difficult.
  4. I have not heard from the OP, but I checked where he was located and it was near Pueblo. He may not want to travel that far, although it's probably not any further than it would be for you. We would like to meet up with you if possible. I don't know any wheeling spots around there, so the location is up to you.
  5. I'm not sure what part of the state you are in, but my wife and I are taking the pathy to Durango later this month. We will get there on the 30th of May and be there for a week. We would love to hook up with you guys if possible.
  6. Yesterday a school in Sacremento, CA sent some boys home for wearing shirts with red, white, and blue and American flags on them. Appearantly, it offended some of the Hispanic kids and faculty at the school. This is America, right? Doesn't California still belong to America? Is Cinco de Mayo an American holiday? What is even more ironic about this whole thing is two of the kids are of Hispanic decent. This crap is just wrong and really pisses me off. Sorry, I tried to attach the news clip but can't get it done. I found the story in Yahoo news.
  7. I'm stoked about getting up there. It's a beautiful place. We've only been there during the winter time, so I'm looking forward to seeing everything green. My wife made reservations to ride the narrow gauge rail from Durango to Silverton. They have a package that includes riding the train up to Silverton, then taking an off-road Jeep tour, and a bus back down to Durango. That should be interesting. I have a friend that goes up to Telluride a couple times a year and he told me about some places to go around there. I've heard about some places east of Durango in the San Juan mtns, but have no details about them. Anybody been wheeling in this area? If so, speak up.
  8. We are heading to Durango, CO later this month in the Pathy. Anybody got any suggestions on wheeling and/or scenic spots in the area? Nothing hardcore though, it's still stock. I'm borrowing a buddy's trail book, but there is nothing like firsthand advice from people who have been there. Thanks.
  9. We are going to Shilo Rigde that weekend. Looks like it may be a fairly large group of us. I'm calling them tommorrow about reservations. What kind of camping do they have? Get out there if you can.
  10. My wife went to SFA, but that was quite a few years ago (don't tell her I said that). I've been looking for a place to go April 17th and 18th. We are meeting my wife's cousin and her boyfriend somewhere between here and Houston. Your welcome to meet up with us. Shilo Ridge looks like a possibility. I've also been looking at Brazos Valley in Bryan, General Sam's in Huntsville, and Hidden Falls in Marble Falls. I've never been 4 wheeling in Texas because we always go up to Oklahoma, so I don't know what any of these places are like. I guess one way to find out is check out each one of them. I'll let you know where we end up going.
  11. Thanks for the warm reception. 01silvapathy, nice rig, where do you go 4 wheeling? Do you go up to Clayton? I'll let you know when I'm going to wrench on it or go wheeling.
  12. Congrats. We got our '06 a little over a year ago and really like. It's my wifes ride also. Yeah, there is not that much action in this section. It looks like there is only 5 of us posting. I put synthetic fluids in the tranny, transfer case, and both diffs yesterday, I'll let you know if I encounter any problems. I put Mobil 1 in the engine as soon as we got it.
  13. Yesterday I replaced the tranny, transfer case, and front / rear diff fluids with synthetic. I've acquired a set of American Racing Trench wheels to mount a set of Mud Terrains for 4 wheeling. There is not much in the way of lifts available yet. Cal-Mini makes a 5" lift, but it is not cheap. Rancho makes a fairly inexpensive front coil over shock and rear block kit that will raise it about 2". That is probably the way I will go and it will allow me to run a 285 series tire (32" tall). After being under it most of yesterday, I'm quite impressed with the construction. It has a full frame, unlike the previous generation, and plenty of cross and x braces for increased rigidness. The axle shafts are decent size but the diffs are pretty small. I'll keep ya'll posted as the mods progress. Hopefully, I can get the lift and tires done by the time we go to SW Colorado in early June.
  14. Hello. This is my first Pathfinder and 4x4. It's my wifes ride, so I cannot go wild with the mods, but a small lift and more aggressive tires are in the plans. I have friends with Jeeps and Toys and love to go 4 wheeling. We went to SE Oklahoma in early February and the Pathy did well in stock form. I don't see much here about the new Pathfinders, but hopefully that will change as time goes on.
