  1. I have a 1991 Pathfinder SE-V6 with an automatic transmission.

The issue I am having is last week I noticed when I floored the accelerator the power light would come on and after a couple of blocks it would automatically turn off. Since last friday if I floor the car the power light turns on but won't turn off until I shift the car manually to another gear.

I tried reading the error codes from the auto computer but the power light never lights up. It turns on as soon as I turn on the ignition, 2 secs later it turns off, I follow the routine but it never lights up again.

    any help is greatly appreciated.

  2. Ok here is what happened. I spoke with Automotive Customizers they did not accept they made a mistake. They said that different versions used different torsion bars, that is BS. I have an american version pathfinder, it was imported from Miami - purchased at South Motors.

They sent me the correct torsion bars but I had to pay 170 dollars and all shipping costs to Colombia (Another 100 dollars).

  3. You are right I got HB torsion bars instead of Pathfinder bars, which indeed are exactly 1 inch shorter.

So I have to purchase and import the new longer torsion bars.

Don't know if any other Colombians read the forum but this means I have 2 brand new sway a way torsion bars for a HB for sale.

  4. I had the same problem, and I fixed it the easy way. If you only open / close the locks with the button on the door and with the remote keyless entry this will do.

Take the door panel off and remove the original door lock actuator, it is located on the bottom left of the door. Replace it with an aftermarket door lock actuator ($10-15) and wire it to the yellow wires. Do not hook up the red, blue and black wires.

The "new" door lock actuators will work with the keyless entry or security system, and from the lock/unlock button in the door trim. When you manually lock/unlock the door it will NOT lock/unlock the other doors.

  5. Have you checked the relay that cuts the juice to the starter? I would start there. Another option is unhooking the whole security system.

I can't help you any further as I don't have the security system on mine. Previous owner took it out.

Im sure a good vehicle electrician will be able to pull it out, without charging dealer prices.

Hope you get your problem solved.

  6. I ordered the AC 3" suspension lift. Everything arrived and last night I decided to go ahead and put it in the truck (1991 Pathfinder SE-V6 Automatic with all possible options). When I removed the original torsion bar and compared it to the AC torsion bar the AC torsion bar is about an inch shorter. My issue is I live in Colombia South America and to return the Torsion bar is a pain in the behind, does anyone have any ideas?

  7. You can run a self diagnosis on the trans computer using the a secret combination of operations with the gear lever and O/D switch.

If you want it i will post it for you some how.

Its pretty use full, the only thing is, is that your light on the power switch has to be working as that flashes codes that let you know whats wrong in there.

Let me know if you want it!!

I may be able to email it to 88 and he could put it on that list of important stuff at the top of the page, and host the document on his sight or somthing.

Its 12 scanned pages of self diagnosis stuff.

    I got it from Igranch.

    Pete.

Diesel Boy I would greatly appreciate it if you could email me the diagnosis manual.
