  1. Cool! Its the one in the middle. The bottom one pictured is the one that they keep sending. it has 0-60 stamped on it.The pathy has a 0-120 scale gauge. When I installed the one they sent at idle it would show pressure and the light would come on. Thanks for the link. I cant wait to get this thing resolved.
  2. O.K. I know I am comparing apples to oranges here but...my cousins girl washed her Miata at the car wash and the same thing happened. We dried everything we could think of but it still kind of ran rough. We had her drive it around a little in the neighbor hood and it cleared up. That has not happened to me since I started spraying electrical connections with a silicone spray. now days theres a ton of small electrical connections on a vehicle but I think its worth the time. I have sprayed under the cap, rotor, plug boots at plugs and cap. connectors in the wiring harness. Anything with an electrical connection wouldnt hurt. Spray and wipe! A good silicone spray helps to remove moisture and will help to prevent water from causing trouble. A little insurance for the next time on the trail that you have to hit it a little hard to cross a big mud hole or when watching to make sure water dosent pour into your snorkle as you cross a creek! Sorry for the long post but I hope this helps.
  3. I plan on installing the cooler as soon as I get the oil sending "switch w/gauge" unit resolved. Local parts stores seem to have the same type of switch, all of them the wrong one.
  4. I have an old cooler from an old truck that is clean and in good shapethat I thought about using. It measures about 8"x12". Does that sound like it would be large enough. If so any ideas as to the best place to mount it?
  5. Actually the canister looks brand new. So this could have been the problem originally? Maybe it was replaced by the previous owner? The filter on the system, the mounting hardware and fender where the coil are mounted are destroyed by what looks to be rust. Does that sound like what you had go wrong? Ireally dont know where the coil goes originally because I found it just laying in the wiring harness behind the drivers side headlight. Did you remove canister and all? P.S. We dont have to worry about emmisions in Al....... Yet Thanks
  6. Has anyone had any problems with their air induction system? This system is designed to reduce hydrocarbons in the exhaust by drawing fresh air directly into the exhaust manifold as per the Haynes manual. On my 87 it has had a total melt down. The filter and surrounding area look as if acid has been poured over it. I just bought this vehicle and when I first saw it I thought I was looking at a battery melt down. It has eaten a hole in the fender well the size of a grapefruit. The Vehicle runs smooth and has no major problems. I was just wondering if I could do away this system? Any ideas or suggestions on what needs to be done? :help:
  7. Well, it will have to be rebuilt. Owner of the junk yard says it runs fine till it warms up then starts to slip. I checked on a price and it is $1,100 to rebuild. Thats with no install. That includes all new parts and torque converter. Not just a repair. 1 year warranty nationwide. Is that 700+ for a working tranny?
  8. Thanks , I dont know why I didnt think of going to the Stealership for info. Last time I was there looking for Cowl Grills they printed off every page of the computer they looked at and gave them to me. I found a used tranny for an 88-? but am not sure what year it actually is. My tranny works just fine but is a 3 spd. The used tranny is $125.00 I thought I would buy it just in case. If the time comes and I have to replace it I would rather rebuild a 4spd. I'll keep yall posted on what i find.
  9. Well thanks anyway. I had read on another forum that a member was going to do that swap but I cant remember where I read that. Old age is getting the best of me!
  10. First question as a newb. Will the 88 auto 4 spd. tranny work as a replacement for my 87 auto 3 spd. tranny. If so is there anything special that has to be done such as swapping the ECU ,etc... P.S. I tried a search but couldnt find anything on this subject. Please dont flame me! :help:
  11. Hello all! I am new to the board. The site looks to have a lot of good info. I just bought my second Pathy. This one is a lot older than my first and needs a bunch of wrenching. This looks like a great place to start.
