  1. I might have a line on a complete 1992 parts vehicle for my pathfinder, very little rust on the body, complete, 280K, recently rebuilt auto tranny. I want to buy it to get some little things, but the main thing is to get a decent set of heads for my pathfinder. Will this engines heads fit into my 1987 pathfinder? I know that the intake manifold and air cleaner are a different setup, but to me the rest of the block and heads look relatively the same. Also, I'd be looking at parting the rest of it out (what I don't use), so if there is any interest, I'd like to know now before I purchase it and have to find a place to store it. Would be located in Edmontonish Alberta, Willing to ship parts. What I'd be taking - engine or just heads - interior panels and dash - cruise control - rear hatch w rear defrost - front seats - possible front fenders depending on how my Stuff on it that I wouldn't need for sure: - hood - doors (all four) less interior trim panels - all glass (minus doors if people want it with the doors) - power windows/locks motors if people don't want them complete - roof rack - good stock chromies with 235/xx/15 rubber (stock) at about 45% - auto tranny recently rebuilt - transfer case - front diffs (x2) - cv shafts, - all brake components - auto hubs - my front seats - rear seats (reclinable ones with headrest) - auto dash cluster showing 280K on odometer. - a/c compressor - any climate control components - gas tank (would be emptied, cleaned, etc. - power steering box - etc. If this is inappropriate please just let me know and I'll remove the part about available parts. Cheers, Evan.

This one is apparently from those years. I'll have to take a look at it, but thanks for the ID tip.

Thanks for that. I just got word from a member of a ricer forum that I'm on that another member might have a 300zx diff that he can sell me. I'm attempting to contact him to get a price.

I will definitely plan on doing this. Luckily I have a spare front diff from a pathfinder, so before I go ahead on do the install I'll be able to compare them side by side. Now I just have to convince the missus that this is a neccesary repair.

Well, I don't mind doing all the work again, because it means more wrenching!! Cheers, Evan.

okay, so I found a 240sx rear diff from an 90 hatchback, I can get it for $75. Do you think this would be a worthwhile swap into my pathy? Or would it be a waste of time?

I'm sorry to be a PITA, but can someone answer my question? I'm not looking to make the rear LSD any harder to break away, I'm happy with my LSD in the rear, I'm wondering about putting an LSD in the front, and whether a 240sx LSD would be effective.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I'm curious about the differences in breakaway forces between the stock pathy wd21 lsd, and the 200 carrier in the 240sx break away (ie 260 lbs vs 60 lbs). Does this mean that the lsd won't do anything effective, as it would break away as soon as any pressure is put on it? Or does it mean that the breakaway force is so high that it would make driving a nightmare. I suspect that breakaway would be so low that it wouldn't be effective. If this is the case, could you not rebuild the LSD with clutches from a rear lsd, to make the breakaway forces stronger? Or are the parts incompatible?
