I don't care if this is a re-post, its hilarious!

Ok, so I went out for a drive this morning, no issues, ran good. Went out again this afternoon - starts fine. when leaving the post office it struggles to start (first time ever). Hmm, odd. I get home, listen to engine all the way back. Everything sounds normal and it is running great. Turned the engine off on my driveway then tried to start it again - no go, a small "waaa" noise with no clicking. I flipped on my lights and fog lights and they are operating normally, my light reminder dings. Checked battery quick, connections are tight and good.
Went wheeling on Saturday in some sandy muck which got all over in the engine bay. I made sure to spray down the alternator last night to get any sand out of it, maybe that's where my problem is? The symptoms don't seem to support that though.

it gets baked and becomes brittle then it gets hit sometimes with the oil filter change...I broke mine like 3 diff times its a real PITA to get that connector back on there I think they intentionally made it difficult to hook up...
I ripped off the connector and soldered it. I did notice that the wires felt quite brittle. It's odd that the power wire out of the harness is so small and the one coming off the sensor is huge. oh well, fixed now.

Anyone need tires/wheels?
1 brand new spare tire - stock xe size on brand new chrome wheel $100 obo
4 fairly used tires on chrome wheels. The wheels are nice. $5 each
Let me know if interested and we can arrange a pickup or meet somewhere.

Fixed, thanks folks. Not sure how it got ripped out, it's pretty protected in there. It was a yellow wire with a black stripe FYI.

I'll have to bust out the pressure washer so i can actually see something then, time to look for severed wires!
Does anyone have a picture of what it SHOULD look like? Are there connectors or anything?
-
From my understanding (did some searching) the red unit in my picture is the oil pressure sensor. Is the wire coming out of it supposed to be only 1 inch long? seems to me it should connect to something. My light came on yesterday while doing some moderate wheeling, so didn't take a chance and called AMA for a free tow. This morning, I started the pathy and no light, it was blinking yesterday fairly intermittently.

I just found out I will be working in the Grande Cache and Hinton area at that time, but not sure on the schedule yet, I'll keep you posted

Thats the ecu, your computers electrical brain. If you go in deep water or there may be a chance, relocate it to the glove box as many of us have done.

I am thinking about making a snorkel, and I forgot how my airbox goes together since it's been a while. Does the MAF sensor just bolt to the other side of this copper piece or am i missing a piece? sorry for the crappy phone pic

Got a new one on the weekend.
you can also see on my passenger door where I rubbed a tree in my sig shot

Ahh yes, the DRLCM. If one of your headlights isn't working, go bang the hood/fender by the battery and I bet it'll come on or flicker. Pretty common problem with the Canadian models. I took mine apart to look for any cracks in the solder but it looked fine. Ended up buying a new one from a stealershp for bout $120. Plugged it in and it works, no more hassle. Headlights are pretty important, so I just gave in and did it. Thats probably not much difference than the ticket you could get for 1 headlight not working anyways.

A whole rear hatch for $35? wow thats cheap! I know there are 3 or 4 pathfinders at the Pick N Pull in Edmonton, depending on where you are it may be worth checking out. Not black as far as I remember, but depending on their price you could always paint it or have it painted.

You would want all 4 to be the same, and the first link is the ones you would want. I have the same ones and I like them. I see you are in Canada also, expect to pay pretty close to $400 (shipping, customs) even though they are so cheap looking online. I got an american racing wheel locally for my spare in the same design for the price that the wheels from summit ended up costing, shop around a bit at local tire shops.

Hello and welcome! Might have to go wheelin' sometimes, I live in St. ALbert.

Looks like a great run, I'll try and make it for the November run to Brule - I love that area.... depends on work scheduling I guess.

I need some new places to check out, anyone have suggestions? I know about the safari park.

Sounds cool, I'm in.

My old '92 was stolen - the thieves took the stereo and went 4x4'ing. Trashed the locks and stuff, but we got it back. An alarm system would be a good deterrent.

does removing the catalytic converter give me any horsepower. is the boost it gives me worth the ticket i get for not having one. just wondering. a friend of mine said just to take a rod and clean out the insides of the catalytic converter to pass inspections. he also said that i would have to adjust something with the gas or sumpthin about the way it revs, said it wont run the same without one...
just wonderin wat the experts have to say
I don't have one anymore. It runs fine, no different than before.... and you don't gain anything by removing it.
-
I'll have to try and make it for one of your runs soon, I already have plans for this weekend, otherwise I'd be there.

The fluid is sitting at max in my MC, I did do some stop/go tests around the block a couple times. These pads were more expensive than the last ones, supposedly better quality. The rotors need to be changed, but I'm not up for that right now - going to do the suspension lift and everything all at once since I'll be down there.
Now she won't start!
