  1. I was looking for the distributer, but could not even see that. This is a first for me on any engine, because in the past I have always been able to quickly find any component. Had I seen the distributer I could have traced the HT wires.

Probably have to take the plastic plate off of the top like on my grand am.....I couldnt find those either, then there they were, under that big black plate or cover, whatever you want to call it.these wierd wires and the part that slips onto the plug was way down in the engine....it was wierd....

  2. Well i was thinking about going with 2.25" but wasnt sure

so the 40 series flo master isnt going to be too big for that lil 3.0?

is a down pipe going to be nessesary?

and on the muffler does it matter if the inlet is center or side?

I had the same set up....2.25 high flow cat, FM 40....it gave a ton of low end torque and rumbled like a small v-8.

  3. Why even ask? It cost $90:ohno01: to fill up the 27 gallon tank........the on board computer said I was averaging 21 mpg on the hwy at 75 mph....with 6 passengers, not too bad for a tank. But it only gets 16 mpg in town. If you punch it you can pretty much watch the gas needle drop.

  4. A dodge? where is the Tundra Or the Titan? ;)

Nah, needed seats....although i like the titan I needed space for the kids....I guess I war looking for comfort this time. This thing runs smooth (the V8 power is cool too) and is extremely comfortable AND has a 100,000 mile warranty.durango15.jpg

  5. Well, upon looking at the frame, (and a few taps witha BFH), I found 6 baseball sized holes in the frame, a hole under the rear seats big enough to put your hand through, the famous "ticking" manifolds....etc....you can only do so much........

I bought her on EBAY a few years back for 4 grand.

But today i traded her in for a gas guzzling beast that couldn't think of going where she went....

I got 4 grand for the trade....bought a 2006 dodge durango...I know, ugly....my thoughts too, but I have 3 kids, they are getting older and the pathy wasn't cutting it. (plus she was rotting away.)

Anyway, It's actually really nice, built in serius satellite radio, leather, homelink (built in garage door opener), front/rear disk brakes, on board computer, 3 rows of seats....(seats 8)...controls on the steering wheel for the radio....6 disk cd changer, dvd player, alpine home theatre (mobile), heated seats/mirrors.....wood grain dash.....front/middle/rear A/C....tow package(W/Tranny cooler)...roof rack etc.....I miss the pathy, but she did her job while I had her.....the BIG ASS Durango ? (purchased a 100,000/60 mo warranty for $1000) It cost $17,400 b4 the warranty....(18,400) The V8 is really a beast and (i know I could have done better but not 4 this price) it averages 16mpg (so far in the city) and supposedly 17-19 hwy.....

Guess it will be my weekend vehicle. I'll drive the 4cyl grand am to work, the chevy truck to haul a load, and the Durango to travel..........but I AM going to be looking for a pathy in the future for a play toy.

    1. Thanks, but I don't want to have sex.

    2. Nope, no more booze for me.

    3. Sorry, but you're not really my type.

    4. Taco Bell ? No thanks, I'm not hungry.

    5. Good evening, officer. Isn't it lovely out tonight?

    6. Oh, I couldn't. No one wants to hear me sing karaoke.

    7. I'm not interested in fighting you.

    8. Thank you, but I won't make any attempt to dance, I have no coordination.

    9. Where is the nearest toilet? I refuse to vomit in the street.

    10. I must be going home now as I have work in the morning

  7. ive got one, and its been not working or it works and I cant tell the difference for a long time.

Like flnl said, check the top of your shocks and see if they are plugged in, or if they even have wires coming out....they work when new but the shocks cost too much for me.

  8. Mine did that too a long time ago. It was the swaybar. Could also be worn-out shock bushings or a loose muffler mount or several other things being loose.

**, weren't you going to tell him to look under the vehicle while someone bounces up and down on the rear bumper?

  9. ........I believe this is what you are referring to....I saved it to my puter a long time ago....the pics are below because they didn't work in the download, but the download below gives the description. yeah, at full turn it's prob the steer stops...I greased mine last year and haven't heard a peep out of them since.....but I figured I would post this anyway and there is a download at the bottom..(directions)

  10. Those Hella horns sound like squeaky toys compared to a train horn. Not even close. I had a friend who had a set of 4 Nathan Air-Chime horns off a train...those things would wake the dead. It takes at LEAST 25-30 psi to get them to blow, though.

    I want one.

  11. forced up and out to extend and hang over the pants. That will NEVER be attractive!! Buy pants that fit!!

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I call that the mushroom look!

  12. I seen a fronty fender flares at the JY today and try to fit it to a pathy and it was a very close fit. I used the rear flares from a fronty coz the front flares are shorter in the front coz of the frontys tall bumpers but they have the same exact shape and fitted it against both the front and back of the pathy and man it will fit but it recquires a bit of modification.

The shape is exactly the same the only difference is the fronty is much beefier and wider by 2 inches from front to back which is needed for bigger tires and also thicker by about 1/2 inch.Theres room to cut the pathys fender well atleast an inch both in the front and back.

Unfortunately I couldnt buy the 2 rear flares coz the bed is not damaged.Im going to shop for those flares either on ebay or at the local JY and keep you guys posted. I was told that it would cost $75 for four rear flares if they find one from a damaged bed.

Nice....Or you could get the pathy flares and be done with it....(there are a few on ebay)

  13. Heres an old post that should answer your questions.....

For some reason the link wasn't working

( http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showto...mp;#entry184808 )so here it is below just in case.

Hey everyone, my friend has a 96 pathy and it rocks back and forth real bad at any time while driving. It is so bad that the police pulled them over for it. He replaced shocks, struts...and I told him that maybe it was his sway bars. I haven't looked underneath yet, so what else should I look for? Thanx for your help once again, and he'll be joining the site soon.

Rear axle control arm bushings. You can either buy new polyurethane bushings and try to replace them yourself or buy whole new control arms from Nissan that have the same old craptastic OEM bushings in them....Happens all the time to R50's from 96-99.

I had mud (well dirt but it was mud when it got there) on the inside of my rims and threy it so off balance it was hopping wheels off the ground. It was dangerous to go over 40. I dont know if it is the same as your describing but check it out.

It is probably the trailing arm / control arms in the rear as 88 said. There are 5 bars that connect to your rear axle- he is referring to the upper and lower pair found on each side (the 5th bar is the panhard, there is only one). You can check them easily by giving them a good shake. If they have any play whatsoever, either change the bushings or just change the whole piece. If its a 96 and has never had them replaced, they very likely are shot. Get the wheels balanced. And make sure the alignment is in spec.
