  1. One thing I learned when I built up my Jetta was "Do it for yourself." It doesn't matter what other people think of it, they will respect that you built it the way you wanted it. If they don't respect you for you efforts, who need them. We modify our cars/trucks to fit our personal tastes. You should never modify it to please anyone but yourself.

  2. From your avatar, I would say you are in the NY area and I can believe $50 to fill up after ~250 miles. At $2.80/gal, having anything but a scooter sucks. I am just surprised that your '01 gets the same mileage as my '89 with 195k miles. You must really have a heavy foot.

  3. You won't notice the ram effect, even though the faster you go the more air pressure there will be. The big bonus will be blocking the hot air from being sucked into the filter.

  4. First trip to Paragon and I can add to the list.

    - bent driver side step rail brackets

    - dented driver side rocker (in front of step rail, and in front of rear tire)

    - possibly new scratches, but unable to determine which are new

  5. I just found this site so I thought I would join up. You can never be a member of too many forums. WAVEY

My name is Jeff, and I am a home theater installer from Southern Connecticut. I recently purchased an '89 SE and have been slowly getting everything trail ready on it.
