  1. If it's not available there are kits you can get on RockAuto. For OEM mounting, all you need to buy is the bracket that mounts to the driver side given that your center link has the U-shape mount. Then just get any stabilizer that fits the brackets. There is also a nice Bilstein steering damper package available from 4x4parts but it doesn't use the stock mounts.

  2. I do have a life. I wouldn't call some of the things I put up here useless. I contributed quite a bit to NPORA but nobody seems to appreciate it. It's ok though because I'm only doing it because I like my truck for many reasons. It's a true Nissan and it sure drives like one too. The only reason people like to pick on me is that I tend to put up arguments. Once someone disagrees with one thing I say, they will disagree with anything that I will put up. It's human psychology to hold grudges. I don't hold any grudges and you're not doing me a favor by looking at my work. I am doing you a favor by putting up the write ups.

Again while I don't see the point of having a foot well light with the door open, I still want to put it in because what I have in mind would look really neat at night. If I'm not happy with it then I can easily take it back out. The wiring is there from the factory so it's worth a try anyway.

  3. Don't be so quick to jump to conclusions nunya. Have you actually done any cluster swaps?

It still is plug and play. You just need to put the speed sensor wires into the cluster instead of into the transfer case. I'm pretty sure the voltage range is the same. They used the same ECU from 93 to 95.

The reason why I said there is more compatibility is that the voltage regulator for the clusters on models 93 and up is no longer on top of the cluster. It's most likely in the same place the 95 one is. I think it's in the ECU but check that with the service manual.

The only thing that's actually labor intensive is swapping the inner dashboard skeleton over to the newer vehicle.

  4. No. The mechanical speedometers are cable driven. There is a photoelectric diode inside the mechanism where the cable connects which sends the speed to the ECU. The electrical speedometers get their reading directly from the speed sensor that replaces the cable in the transfer case.

  5. I don't hate the factory sun roof but if only there was an alternative way to cover it aside from bolting a whole piece of headliner to it and there was a dark tint option instead of the cross stitched option it would have been perfect. The drain is a good idea but those hoses are really hard to take out and clean up if you ever have to do that. I forgot to mention that the sun roof is sealed from both the inside and the outside but the outside seal can fail really fast if left in the hot sun for too long, especially around the hinges. Then you will only have the inside seal and the drains keeping the water out.

I don't know if the glass is any stronger than the aftermarket ones are but maybe the cross stitching makes the glass stronger?

  6. Cubes are trash. It's like a bootleg Scion. Apparently they are very popular but you get what you pay for.

I think that eventually these issues with CVTs will be resolved just like everything else. For now they are going to be a big pain in the you know where but in time the CVT transmissions will actually be really good on future cars.

Their biggest issue right now is in the friction belt. Nissan is actually working on something called Extroid CVT to get rid of the belt completely.

  7. I have the factory one and I have played around with aftermarket ones before too. What I don't like about the factory one is that they are cross hatched instead of tinted. The seals on them fail much quicker than aftermarket ones too. The only reason why the factory one does not leak is there are drain channels on both sides. Even if the seals start coming apart, the water can still go down into the drains. If your seals are fresh on the aftermarket ones, they will never leak. The aftermarket ones have cool covers so they don't need that bolt on headliner stuff and they have nice dark tint instead of that goofy net.

  8. The whole problem with CVT transmissions is not the transmission itself but how the computers on those cars are programmed. I agree they do suck on most cars but they only suck because no one can set them up properly. When set up properly, they are better and lighter and more compact than any other transmission. For example CVTs are great for turbocharged applications because they can vary the ratios to keep perfect boost all the time. Nissan has been working on some new cool CVT designs too that can handle heavy loads.
