  1. Im german car crazy love older 80's bmws e30 well all beemers. Im a jeep wrangler nut case owned 7 of them and loved them all. I drive toyota corolla 2003 and 2000 nissan frontier crew cab. Post on timing belt change made my register lol.
  2. You guys missed out autozone had milemarkers for $85 there for awhile now back up to $99 Milemarker part 435 28spline. Just be sure to use blue locktight trust me i know, the bolts seem to want to back out. Im pretty sure your suv are same as my frontier setup and require wheel bearings to be repacked. My truck seems to have taken some binding out front end and glides down road easier.
  3. No one has mentioned the benifits of manual hubs and benifits of auto hubs here is my take. The autohubs are great you dont have to jump out in mud to lock them just shift and go. The manuals have a few advantages, say your in 4x4 in park city Utah on steep icy road and park your truck and leave it there few days. Well without torque being applied front axle autohub, in theory you may only have the back axle working correct i maybe wrong on this and allow your truck to slip down the hill this happened on my sis 2wd isuzu rodeo. Lets say your stuck in mud and need to rock back and forth the manual hubs are always locked in either fwd and rev big plus. Being able to disconnect the front axle at will is another benifit with broken cv shafts. I tried the automatic hubs for two weeks when i got my truck and couldnt figure them out, im used to jeeps comand trac you just pop it in. OOO another advantage of manuals say your going down a super steep incline 4low first gear letting engine slow you down not sure if autohubs would stay in locked position so i give manuals another thumbs up. One reason to have autohubs and four reasons to have manuals, maybe five because some have reported better mileage but I cant figure out why this would happen.
  4. My truck is 2000 4x4, v6 crewcab, frontier, 86kmiles. I think its a 3.3l v6. I did the search function and found some great pictures with great advise but more i can understand tools, reasons why marks are made the better. Ok im assuming the reason you want left and right sprocket to line up on top so you can mark them and see what your doing? If you just slipped a belt off and put the new one on same way it would work but no way to double check to make sure you missed tooth. Where is the mark on lower crank i cant see it in pics. How do you get sprockets to line up above put the truck in gear with 5sp and push it until its right then back in neutral, then proceed to take the old belt off. I think i can do this job with some help more help the better so i can quickly do the job. My wheel bearings took day and half lol running back to the store swap out timken bearing seals for Orielys taiwan ones. Now i could do each side in less than hour including new pads and rotors, wow the pads are easy to change on these nissan cool. Where should i order my parts from would rockauto.com be a good idea or can i get a lifetime made gatorback timing belt?
