  1. i have thought of taking the assembly off the vehicle and pouring soap water in it and slosh it around. then using compressed air to dry it. but if i could also remove the metal shield i could use a small rag on a stick to actually wipe the lens too.
  2. I have an 02' and was wondering if the headlight assembly can be taken apart to clean and polish the inside of the headlight lens and reflectors. I do see a layer of dust that somehow made it in and has settled to the bottom reflectors. There also seems to be a light haze on the inside of the lenses too. I have polished the outside of the lens with headlight lens polish but would like to clean the inside too.
  3. Another thing with manual tranny pf's is that the clutch pedal has to be depressed in order for it to turn over. Now if this is somehow bypassed too then if you decide to park the vehicle in gear for safety, leave it in 3rd or 4th gear. If you happen to forget you left it in gear and try to crank it with the remote start there is less chance of the vehicle starting because of the high gear it is in. That coupled with the handbrake should keep it from taking off.
  4. I was going to consult the local dealer about this too seeing as my mileage was getting to that point too. I was hoping to hear some knowledgeable news from them but this is much easier! thank u thank u! *Whew!* Icing on the cake for preferring manual transmission...
  5. i do notice that if i refrain from slowing down by gearing down and use more of the brakes to do so my oil consumption isn't as bad. this never used to be a problem prior to 80,000km. i wonder if there is a big difference in this problem between MT and AT trannys..??
