Nah you have to get at least 20 posts or so under your belt before that kicks in. Where are you located? I may have a 4wd rolling chassis in the near future that you could use as a donor and probably let it go pretty cheap
Lompoc CA. i am down for that. transmission and all? hmm.

Ya sorry lol. i ment when u are out playing in the dirt or mud or jumpin ur pathmaker do u use 4x4 a lot or more 2wd

If I were you I would leave it 2wd, look for a long arm kit for the front and lock the rear. OR, just go straight to a SAS and not bother with an OE 4wd setup.
That was my meaning sorry. if i should just go to SAS or stay 2wd. but i think long travel is the most promising so far. thanks.

thanks guys. i was thinkin that to. i guess ill just go ahead and long travel it. lol. and then ill buy a crawler on the side.

Hey guys i just got my pathfinder christmas day. It was my friends old one and it was pretty beat up but the motor is solid. I have put all new shocks, tires, tune up parts, sound system, idler arm, sway bar end links, and soon to be center link. seems like i have done a lot more but thats the gyst of that. It is a 1990 v6 2wd. Now my questions are i was wondering if anyone has converted to 4x4 and i was wondering if there was a link to that persons full swap over including what is all needed. I searched nothin came up. The reason i have wanted to do this conversion is because i wanna rock crawl, and or just have a crap load of travel to clear whatever i want and just cruise. I am not a fan of straight mobbin and beating on my motor. I enjoy the entire cruising off road aspect. I Have just recently gotten into off roading, and sorry for all the newb questions and i am sure ill get flammed, but this forum is a lot different from others i used for other cars and all. Thanks for your help. And i will do the Pathfinder well.

issues with my pathfinder suspension

I had purchased my 1990 nissan pathfinder from my friend that i use to go mobbing with christmas day of 08. since then i have done all shocks, center link, a tie rod end, ball joints the uppers, sway bar bushings and end links on the front, idler arm. and i believe thats all. But my thing is, my upper control arms are hitting my shocks when the front end catches air, one side seems to have a bump stop to keep that one side from hitting the other its about half gone and it hits. My Question is, if i get rough country or any other control arms. will it stock my shocks from being hit by my control arms. I am 2wd and i dunno if that matters. But let me know what u think. thanks.
