  1. My In-Dash 6 disc CD changer in my 01 Pathfinder is dead. It just clicks and nothing happens. Can it be repaired or does it have to be replaced? Either way are there any instructions on how to get it out?
  2. The sticker is located on the inside of the glove box door. This sticker is different from the sticker listing all options on the car, etc. It is very small and should be in the center of the glove box door once it is open.
  3. Well let me rephrase my Maxima's oil consumption. I put in exactly 4.25 quarts and have always gotten out almost exactly 4.25 quarts, depending on how much I spill, etc. So I guess it does burn some but not enough to notice. Most of my mileage is interstate which could help things. I will keep an eye on the Pathfinder and probably check back in 3-4 months depending on how much it uses. I do know that the VQ's operate at a higher temperature than most so that could be causing some burnoff. Thanks for everyone's help!
  4. The 01's hold 5.25 quarts. I guess I am just spoiled by my 97 Maxima which has almost 100k on it, still runs 10W30 synthetic, and never burns a drop a 5k intervals. They both have VQ's so I thought the Pathfinder had a serious problem. I changed it back to regular oil and will keep an eye on it. If it burns another quart in 3k miles I will probably look into stopping the problem but I really don't think it will burn that much.
  5. If you don't have the sticker you probably don't have the filter. My family owns 2 01 Pathfiners and only 1 had it. I guess it was an option. The one that did have the filter was filthy as it had over 40k miles on it. The cheapest place I have found to buy them is from pathfinderparts.com. It will redirect you to another site but just order from there.
  6. I think they were available starting with 1999.5 models. I just checked the two 01 Pathfinders in my family and only 1 had the filter. It was NASTY as it hadn't been changed in forty something thousand miles. Thanks for the help!
  7. My sister bought an 01 Pathfinder 4x4 with 36,XXX miles on it. I changed the oil at 41k and put Mobil 1 synthetic in. I noticed then it had burned a little oil but nothing too significant. I just checked the level at it was below the low level on the dipstick. The car has 44k on it now. Is this something that needs to be checked out or should I just put dino oil back in it and see what happens. Is buring oil covered under the powertrain warranty? Thanks!
  8. Where can you get them for $28 online?
  9. Has anyone replaced the in cabin microfilter on their 01 Pathfinder? Where is it located? Mine has 40k on it and the filter has never been changed.
  10. I have checked everywhere for what looks like a broken weld. My dad even has a 4x2 01 Pathfinder and I looked under it for a similiar part but couldn't find it. The 4x4 that the part came from has so much more hardware undernear the car!! Its really hard to see up front so I probably just missed it. I will get out and check again tomorrow. Thanks for the help!
  11. I guess I will leave it off but I would like to know where it came from. Do you know about where in the exhaust system the piece came from? I have looked around and can't see where it could have come from.
  12. I posted this message on another Nissan board and they said it looks like an exhaust vibration isolator. Anyone have any thoughts on that? I will get under the car and look around the exhaust if it would stop raining. Also, here is one more pic.
  13. My sister says this part fell off her 01 Pathfinder. She heard a noise in the rear and then says she heard this fall. The first three pics are of the part and the last two are of parts in the rear axle of the car that also have similiar features (like the nail looking thing). The nuts on the mystery piece are 12mm to give you a sense on size. I have crawled under the car but can't find anything.
