Guest Guinness
Does anyone have a rear bumper guard on their 2001 Pathfinder? I've have one I bought from a shop in Brooklyn, NY but it doesn't seem to fit with my hitch, even though I asked the store if it would. The hitches welds seem to be the problem, just by a half an inch. The shop in Brooklyn suggested I bend the arms that connect the guard to the existing holes under the Pathy. I have tried it, but it seem that it will bring the guard slightly lower than the bumper itself. Guinness Ottawa, ON, CANADA

02silverpathy
I got the rear bumper and I don't think that there is any difference in the R50 rears...A hitch??? well, I am thinking that you would need longer bolts for the rear tow hooks so that you could bolt them both up there, but if I had my way I would try to build XPLORx4's phatty-- rear bumper/roller hitch-- thingy!! Pezzy (I don't mean to post jack) have you any pics of your front tow hooks?? I am wondering if the bolt pattern is the same..I bought a westin front light bar (for now) from your year and it fit fine on the front set of bolt holes, if it were meant to use the rear bolt holes (in the tow hook) it would not fit. any help is much appreciated... ...Guinness---if you search WAAG you should come up with a thread that I started that had a link where WAAG products were being sold new very cheap!!! Thanks for the info.. I'm gonna have to tkae it to a shop to maybe see if the arms can be bent. I went to Nissan and they tried to out the rear guard on -which looks very similar to yours- but it wasn't gonna fit. Just my luck! I'm gonna search WAAG on the list. I have checked out their website also. With your rear guard, did you have to use any brackets to extend the arms at all? Tow hook (or tabs?) are from what I can tell are the same on mine (99.5) as the 96-99's, as that is where my TJM mounted on... pics are in my Bumper install pics: http://www.muddynissan.com/photos/pathy_tjm/
Guest Guinness
Well, I got the rear bumper guard on it now. It took some grinding of the holes a bit, but it's on for good now. The hitch was causing a small problem for the fit, a tiny mod of the guard, and it's great! Now, I hope there's not gonna be any rust as the end of the guard got a little scratched when it met the cement at the shop! It's powdered-coated black, it should be fine.
