Replacing interior lighting with LED

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, so I've recently been trying to replace some of the interior lights with LED as the old ones were on their way out. So far I've swapped out the speedometer and tachometer side lights on the instrument cluster (I used too much force on the mileage socket while trying to take the old bulb out and destroyed it whoops), and the HVAC controls. Now I'm curious whether or not its possible to change the lights on the light controls (circled in blue in case I don't explain myself well) as well as on the window controls.

This one isn't mine btw, just didn't have a photo of that on hand.

I’m not sure about the light controls, but as for the window control switch, they use LEDs — at least on mine. However, the LEDs are soldered directly onto the control board, so you’d need to desolder them and install proper replacements. Also, if you decide to go ahead with it, be cautious when removing the plastic housing, as it’s easy to damage the inner plastic switch mechanism.
