R50 3.5L Exhaust Diameter query

Hi guys,

I just bought the full SS exhaust kit that Northeastern exhausts offer for 2001+ 3.5L Pathfinder/QX4.

When measuring the ID of the different pipes they seem to be all over the place. My one concern is the front resonator to intermediate pipe (pre 1st muffler) goes from 2.25" to 1.75" ID at the flange. The intermediate pipe seems quite small in diameter, measuring down to 1.6" through to the 1st muffler.

How do these measurements stack up compared to OEM? Seems quite restrictive. Ive included a pic of the intermediate pipe where it meets the resonator, the gasket represents the resonator pipe diameter. Quite a big difference!

All ID measurements are as follows:

Cat to resonator 1.75"
Resonator to intermediate pipe 2.25"
Intermediate pipe 1.75" down to 1.6"
Muffler to muffler 2"
Tailpipe 2.5"

I replaced my exhaust with the Walker Sound FX series, so I can't speak for yours, but I honestly would not worry about this. It probably is close to original specs. These aren't high performance turbo engines so I can't see why it would negatively affect performance.

Fitment is something completely different. The Walker pipes bolted up perfectly.
