P0340 help!

I am at a loss with this camshaft position sensor I’ll start at the beginning 😅

04 pathy XE 3.5 VQ35DE

we did the timing chains about two years ago was chain knocking on start up ( oil pressure problem once it got oil pressure back it was fine ) 

we redid it had P1490 code coming up so we redid it again now it’s starting hard with code P0340 bank 1 (has never started hard) camshaft position sensor connector was cracked

thought maybe it that so put a another one on didn’t help got a new sensor and it wouldn’t start with it but will start (hard) with the old one 

we tried switching sensors from bank 1 to bank 2 ( they claim they are the same ) won’t start that way either 

 

we’re going to try to get one from the junk yard Monday but till then I’d love to hear any ideas anyone’s got before I go insane 🤯🤯
