P0340 help!

I am at a loss with this camshaft position sensor I’ll start at the beginning

04 pathy XE 3.5 VQ35DE

we did the timing chains about two years ago was chain knocking on start up ( oil pressure problem once it got oil pressure back it was fine ) 

we redid it had P1490 code coming up so we redid it again now it’s starting hard with code P0340 bank 1 (has never started hard) camshaft position sensor connector was cracked

thought maybe it that so put a another one on didn’t help got a new sensor and it wouldn’t start with it but will start (hard) with the old one 

we tried switching sensors from bank 1 to bank 2 ( they claim they are the same ) won’t start that way either 

 

we’re going to try to get one from the junk yard Monday but till then I’d love to hear any ideas anyone’s got before I go insane
