starter does not engage

Perhaps, I'm over analyzing this but I got a new battery and got my old starter hooked up.

Only thing here is the transmission is not hooked up and I'm sure if that has anything to do with it.

I don't have any codes stored either.

I haven't tried jumping the solenoid but wanted to be sure I'm not missing anything else before testing the starter.

Solved. No inhibitor switch, no worky. Fortunately I could just plug the harness from the transmission back up or just create a jumper at the plugs on top of the passenger fender well.
