BIGM Posted October 3, 2012 Share Posted October 3, 2012 Hey guys, new here. I currently have a 94 XE 2WD that needs a new motor. Right now it has just the standard VG30E. Looking around I was wondering how difficult it would be to drop a VG30ET in it out of a late 80's 300zx. From what I've gathered on my own, I would need to reroute the turbo, but I haven't seen much more than that. I'm assuming I would have to change the harness and the ECU. Anything else I need to be aware of. Would I be better off going with the VG30DE or just staying with the original? Second question is it's currently an automatic. I would like to swap in a 5-speed. The only swaps I've seen on here have been 4WD, but I imagine it would be easier on the 2WD. My question is if I can find me a VG30ET motor w/ transmission would I be able to make it work w/o too much fab, or would I just be wasting time...
