Hermit
I recently discovered that my alternator was not functioning correctly, so I got a replacement. Any tips or tricks or advice on how to replace them? What i'm asking, I guess, is if there are any pitfalls associated with it, or finicky parts or anything like that having to do with it. If you replaced your alternator and learned a hard lesson, I want to hear from you! Thanks in advance! It's an 88 with the 3.0 V6 BTW.
Kingman
Well the top mounting point can get stuck to the bracket pretty good but other than that it's as simple as it gets. Two bolts on the top side (one in front one in back), the tensioner, a plug and a ground. Make sure you unplug the battery too. I got tired of messing with aligning both top bolts so I drilled out the casing and put a long through bolt through the front with a nut and lock washer on the back. Much better.
