I have an 88 Pathfinder 4x4 with a 3.0 and It's an automatic. My question to all of you is, from what year to year transmission, and from what vehicle, will fit my Pathy? I've checked a couple of cross reference sites and it looks to me like a pathy from 88-01 will fit, because it has the same transmissionmodel number. Any advice would be handy, Thanks  I think some one hammered her to hard :hide:

Sorry guy's my bad, someone else posted the same forrum on the other page, guess it's that time of the year for tranny breakdowns P... Good thing i love working on my pathy. Also, do you think it would be worth doing the body lift on my pathy first, so that there is more room to work on it and get the tranny out? I wish someone could just magically fix it :Magic:

I'm sure that's what it is, this morning I stopped at a local salvage yard and they have a 92 pathy with an auto and it only has 160k on it and they told me $200. Obviously I'm gonna jump on the deal as long as it will fit. Where can i get the transmission code from? I also got on a couple of cross reference sites and they both said that from 88-01 the tranny's are all the same. I dunno but I hope so

Well I guess I answered my own question. I called a Nissan dealership and they said that a 1992 tranny WON'T fit. I was a little bummed :sniff: But I didn't give up, I started calling salvage yards and they all said that from 1988-1995 would fit fine. It is all the same transmission, and that's what there computer said. I even was doing parts searches on salvage yard web sites and I came up with the same thing, I typed in my vehicle info and it was coming up with transmission out of 1987-1995 and it was even giving me tranny results from a regular Nissan 4x4 pickup to. Seems like they are all pretty universal. I'm gonna give it a shot and i'll let you all know :aok: Wish me luck
