PATHY 88 HIGH ALTITUDE IN PERU!

I AM NEW HERE AND MY ENGLISH ISN`T VERY WELL.

I HAVE MY Pathfinder 1988 3.0L V6(AUTO)AND I LOVE IT.

I HAVE A VERY BIG PROBLEM WITH MY TRUCK HERE IN PERU ON HIGH ALTITUDE (2000-5000 METERS).

THE TRACK IS LOOSING HIS FORCE AND IT IS NOT RUNNING WELL.

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT CAN I DO TO GET MY TRUCK 100% FORCE ON HIGH ALTITUDE? I WANT TO BUY THE PRODUCT OF WWW.SPIRALMAX.COM.THEY SAID THAT IT`S WILL HAVE A BETTER TORQUE AND H.P ON HIGH ALTITUDE.IT`S TRUE?

that problem sounds like something associated with a carbureted engine... and to my knowledge the only carbureted 3.0 liter Nissan engines were available in the middle east ... is your truck throttle body injected? if so, it may just need a tuneup to get everything back into working order again ...

My Pathfinder have TBI with 2 injectors.it`s the same like your Pathfinder.i am

living in Peru but the truck was bought in NEW YORK (1989).i am living on a high

altitude zone and my truck run very slow!!! but on low altitude it`s a realy

tigre.

What can i do?? is this truck have a automatic altitude sensor?

(i don`t think so)

it has an oxygen sensor which meters the amount of air/fuel that the engine is burning ... and adjust the mixture accordingly to attain the best fuel/air ratio ...

 

perhaps you need a new oxygen sensor ....

 

but you may need to consider that adjusting the mixture may be out of the range of the ECU at those higher altitudes ...

MY OXYGEN SENSOR IS FINE.HE IS WORKING WELL.WHEN I SCAN THE COMPUTER IT`S GET 55 CODE(EVERYTHING IS OK)

 

HOW CAN I ADJUST THE FUEL/AIR MIXTURE?

DO YOU MEAN THAT I WILL DO IT WITH THE AIR SCREW ON RH PASANGER SIDE ON TBI?

 

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF YOU HAVE PROBLEM WITH YOUR TRUCK ON HIGH ALTITUDE?
