qwik12
I have a 94 pathfinder 3.0.I replaced the heads due to bent valves from a broken timing belt.I got the camshafts lined up could not see a mark for the crank did my best by lining the crank key at approximateley 11 o'clock and mark on the crank gear at approx. 5 o'clock.I don't think it is right the truck runs rough smells a little rich and just seems to lack power.Surprisingly no check engine light on.I thought if I was off on the timing belt the check engine light would surely come on.Also my crank pulley has 7 marks on it.Which one is TDC.When I go back in.I will try to set with the pulley mark. There is just no mark for the crank gear on the darn housing.Help me if you can thanks Edited December 6, 2009 by qwik12
Tungsten
there are marks on the damper, use those the damper is keyed, the pulley may be off, i had that problem, just made new marks on the pulley btw, the correct setting is 15 degrees BTDC thats where you can get peak torque of ~180 ft/lbs Edited December 6, 2009 by Tungsten
