ID exhaust size?

well, my muffler is all but shot, and i dont want some midas job...so i decided to go with a dynomax muffler to add a bit more sound and whatnot. anywho, i was at my local rice-zone looking at mufflers, but i dont know what size i need. i want a muffler with an inlet that will either fit inside the muffler inlet pipe, or fit over it. what size muffler inlet do i need? its a stock 91 SE with the VG30. they had some 2" i think and some 2 1/4" and a few others. im not worried about the exit diamater, cuz im just putting a turn down and leaving it.

 

i ran across alot of discussion on custom exhaust and performance mufflers, but never what size i needed. TIA! :type:
