I'm working on a 2001 Pathfinder with a P0420 and P0160. The P0160 is simple enough, but the P0420 could be a little more involved. I'm 99% sure the precat on that bank is rattling, which to me would imply some or all of the honeycomb has fallen apart. It isn't a heatshield either, because I checked those.

 

Does anyone have a good source for OEM replacement precats or even the entire exhaust manifold for Bank 1? I think the cheapest I found was around $200 shipped just for the precat from www.autopartswarehouse.com and Rock Auto. I'm almost sure a Nissan dealership would ask for about $800 for the precat.

 

I guess a cheap way out would be to gut the precat, throw on an O2 simulator, and call it a day, but if I'm already in there, I'd rather just replace the precat.
