Howdy folks,

Bought my 1991 Pathfinder SE 4x4 back in April, but just came upon this board today. Looks great!

Have had zero problems with the rig thus far; am still feeling lucky with my find--only 56K miles when purchased, now about 62k--95% of which is weekend/vacation miles, this is my vehicle for getting my canoe to the lake, my feet to trailheads, fishing creeks, etc. That said, I generally seek out the most remote places possible to get out of the truck, so it gets plenty of use on the old 4x4/mining roads of backcountry Nevada. And I bought from original owner, a 6' tall menthol-smoking, doberman-owning woman who tried to back out of our deal even though she had a new Cadillac SUV. Have all records so I know the mileage is for real, and even have window sticker (she put 10K in options on this thing--it has everything from leather seats to all the power equip--only factory option not on it is a tow hitch, which I figure means she couldn't have abused it badly--that and the fact she didn't know how to put it in 4x4!!). And YES, I did a full 60k service, including timing belt and tranny flush, new hoses, etc, etc. It has no rust on body or frame, except on the spare tire swingout mechanism, no dents (but some scratches and so on now that I've owned it a while)--had been garaged for its entire life. A couple minor issues like one rear window needs a regulator, etc, but almost all equipment still works as it should.

Needed a real 4x4 with excellent reliability that was comfortable for 200+ miles of highway, and then 20+ miles of 4x4 trails; couldn't spend more than $5k and wanted less than 100k on the odo. For four years I had an old FJ40, which I loved (sold in 1999 after rust had just about killed it) but wanted something that could get 5mpg more and hold twice as much. No regrets, other than going for so long using marginal 2wd cars on roads they never were designed for.

Cheers,
