JB3829
hopefully there is a simple solution to this....I sprayed throttle body cleaner into the throttle body on my '97, alot of it... and most of it didn't pour out. Then, I cleaned the MAF sensor with a few sprays, let it dry and then put it back on. Then I poured about a 1/3 of a bottle of sea foam into a vacuum hose, let it sit and then restarted it with a ton of smoke pouring out the tailpipe....pretty routine up to this point. The problem I now have is a check engine light with a trouble code (cylinder 1 misfire and knock sensor). I'm guessing I got WAY too much crap into the injector and clogged it up. So i pulled the plugs and they're clean. I re-sea foamed it and it's not better. The idle is rough when in drive at a stop sign or light but runs fine under acceleration. Should I try more sea foam??? Help!
GHSER7
I've got the same exact thing right now. You need to either clean or replace that injector. Test the resistance, if it's over 20 ohms then get a new one. Replace the knock sensor. I'm just waiting on parts....I'm getting 11 mpg right now b/c of this.
