Leveling Spacers Are Being Made

Picked them up on Tuesday evening, and drove to work to install them. After removing the strut and banging out the old studs I noticed there is no way the get longer bolts in there without disassembling the whole thing, OR welding some nuts to the bottom of the mount or something... What did the rest of you do? I put everything back together and drove down to Calgary last night, so I won't be attempting an install for a few days at the earliest. Also seems the strut bearings are sitting weird in there. I'll post pics next time.

I cheated and paid a shop to put them in. Came out fine.

What sort of camber correction bolts did you end up needing? I don't think the ones I bought are enough for OME alone, and they were damn pricey.

With the spacers installed I figured I would need an alignment so got a lifetime one done. They did not need to change the camber bolts but I had the longer ones from the AC lift. Maybe I got lucky? The tires are wearing great and no pulling or drifting.

  • 3 months later...

Installed them a couple of nights ago and stripped the strut tower bolt that holds the spring on..almost new struts too... i had no choice but to tap it to a 1/2" course thread and leave one spring compressor on during the install... with the eight of the vehicle on the springs, i removed the compressor and tightened down the nut... CVs are behaving the same, no excess noise than before. Sits damn level now, but what a hassle. I thought the bolt on the engine side would be hard to get done up, but a regular 9/16 wrench fit on it without any problems.
