door locks dancin', now a water leak?

My newly acquired 94 just today exhibited the dancing door locks. And my wife noticed that there was water inside the lense of the interior light between the front seatbacks.

 

1. I read the thread below on the dancin' doorlocks, but I'm uncertain if there is a consensus on what the cause is... I see that 88pathoffroad has much knowlege but am not clear if it extends to this problem. Can he or someone else clarify what to look for or clean up to fix this?

 

2. As for this water in the interior light, well... uh... how in the heck does that happen? I've had a look at my roof and no obvious rust, nor any holes. I'm guessing something to do with the roof rack, and again, anyone have an idea?
