  1. i have only seen them in chrome (like mine)... I searched really really hard on the internet for a while and found a random dealor down in texas who sold me my bull bar for $850. he didnt know what he had... to him it was just a big box taking up space in his warehouse. got lucky on that one.

  2. i have the standard 4x4parts.com 2" lift, w KYB GR2s and Rancho 9000x and it is a much stiffer suspension than stock, and i believe those stiffer springs cut down on body roll. i live in denver and am always up and down the mountains, and as far as handling i cant really tell the difference between stock and lifted. but, like Pezzy said, you do feel the bumps more, especially when the shocks are dialed in high.

now i read somewhere that you dont need to swap out the shocks and struts when replacing the coils with those in the 4x4parts kit.... maybe that will make it a more affordable option for you?

  3. well, after much research, i decided not to have my changer fixed. it would cost about $200 and often the problem comes back from what i read online. instead, out of curiosity, i plugged my wife's Rio mp3 player into the cassette player with one of those tape adaptors, and it sounded pretty darn good. so i went down to the hobby shop and picked up some 1/8" thick Styrene, glue, and some sticky-back black felt and made a box to replace the CD changer. it fits pretty well and is a great place to hold an external mp3 or cd player.

  4. i have the same noise going on with my 01. i "lifted" it last fall, and it just started making that noise about a month ago. it is especially loud when i turn the tires while not rolling. i think it may be more than just gaskets rubbing, but i havent taken the time to really check it out. hopefully this weekend i will get a chance to investigate it more.

also, i get a large "clunk" when i uncompress the front springs whenever i go over a pothole or something like that. it sounds really bad. for the life of me, i cant figure out what the heck that is. anyone else with that problem?

  5. I put my order in for the 2" suspension lift from 4x4parts.com (with the Rancho RS9000X shocks and KYB GR-2 struts), and now am afraid to do the work myself. Does anyone have any experience installing this lift? A called a couple 4x4 shops, and they want $500-600 to install, and say that a full alignment is necessary also. The lift was $700... I really dont want to pay an additional $500 for installation. Can a very handy person with lots of tools do it himself? Please help! :help:

  6. hi all, 1st post to the forum... just got an '01 PF and would like to do some mods to make it 6-7 trail worthy here in Colorado. where is the best place to get a modest (2"-3") lift for my PF so I can comfortably fit 32" tires, and who makes a decent looking brush guard that costs less than 300 bucks? i saw this (http://198.63.2.33/index.php?ITEMID=ZGSN-802) but i can hardly believe it. i think the nicest is the Waag (http://waag.com/showroom/31.php), but man it is expensive.

i gave up already on a front winch mount for my Warn M8000. well, here is another question... anyone make a front hitch mount for the 01 PF? I have my winch on a sled right now that fits into a class III receiver.

    thanks for the help! :D
