  1. FYI dual 2.25" tubes are way bigger than a single 2.5" or 3" pipe

cross sectional area of 2.25" pipe (inside) = 3.5466 sq. in

cross sectional area of 2.5" pipe (inside) = 4.4301 sq. in

cross sectional area of 3" pipe (inside) = 6.4918 sq. in

    do the math:

    3.547 x 2 = 7.094 ie dual 2.25" pipes will flow more than a single 2.5" or 3"

There is such thing as too much exhaust pipe. Too big of a pipe hurts scavenging, which counteracts the work you did in the first place. That much pipe, you should be running a HUGE supercharger or turbo for there to be a need. I remember SCC making an article on this before and if I remember correctly N/A engine displacement/exhaust size describes these engines to run best with 2.25 and possibly 2.5" pipe. That setup is overkill on even a V8 engine.

  2. Well, I just got back home from the run. I had a blast. It was nice to meet you in person Ryan. To those who missed out, there's Coal Creek on the first weekend of June. As soon as someone posts up some pictures on NOAS(I forgot my camera), I'll post some over here as well.

  3. It doesn't stop the flex (pigeon toe), but it does stop the breaking and bending of components when you do stress the front. At RTCC, I saw a Frontier with the L&P kit (Luv2ski's) at max pigeon toe and full throttle spinning. Soon as he let off the throttle, it was just fine. Stock components,, in the same situation would look like pretzels.

Gotcha. I just didn't notice that problem with Rob's Pathfinder equipped with the Calmini setup.

  4. That was on Les's truck. He has a one-off steering setup with Heims and spherical bearings. My steering was from L&P when they were in business. Hoohaa makes a damn fine centerlink replacement just like the L&P guys used to make, get in touch with him for more on that.

I personally don't think the TK-1 mod fixes anything on the steering. I've replaced everything on my truck's steering, with an L&P upgrade. When I went wheeling at Harlan in February I noticed that both my truck and my buddy Jay's truck (both L&P equipped) were both suffering from "pigeon toe"

You can see it in this picture:

  5. The NOAS KY folks are at it again. We're planning a small weekend run to Hillz n Hollarz in Lockport, KY (just outside of louisville). We're planning to go on the weekend of the 17th. I know I'm planning on camping, maybe others as well if you're interested. Post up if you're interested.

  6. are you guys camping at the camground right next to turkey bay or somewhere out in the LBL?

i have a bunch of work i need to get doen to my truck before i can go wheeling again. i don't think i am going to have enough time to get it all done in the next 2 weeks. :(

There's another campsite which Josh (whom is setting this up) knows of, which will have less people at. He says it's by the water, that's all I know. What do you guys need to get done before the trip? Maybe I can help out, that Friday night or something before hand.

There's also going to be a meeting for the trip and final planning going on this Saturday it's going to be at a place called Flabby's in Germantown @ 6:00.

Here's the map to the place:

  7. I'm interested. I'll have to see about getting that week-end off, but I'd love to go.

Are you all planning on camping there? Will there be somewhere to meet up on the way? Are the trails there going to be too much for my stocker?

We will be camping there. As far as trails, I'm not sure. I've never been there, but I've heard that they're kind of mild.

More details can be found here. NOAS LBL Run

MZxtreme, find a way to get there that weekend. The more, the merrier.

We will be hammering out the details this Saturday night for our KY Chapter meeting. Although a place hasn't been laid out yet for the meeting, both of you are invited. I'll keep you informed of when and where it's going to be Saturday night.

  8. The NOAS KY folks are talking about a run in April, since most of us can't make it to RR. At least 2 of us are already committed to going that weekend. Any of you guys want to go, let me know. It's going to be at Land between the Lakes in KY (between KY Lake and Lake Barkley). Ryan, this means you as well. :aok:

  9. Jeez, I must have been blessed. I ordered mine in January and after two weeks of emails and no response I started to file a claim to Paypal. I guess when I did, he got the picture and sent me my CL.

  10. I received mine last Wednesday. They are some nice control arms. I tried to install them Saturday night but noticed that I had to get the bushings pressed in with some parts off my old control arms. Because of that and my rear spring problem, I am going to wait to install them when I get the Calmini rear springs. These JCG springs sag too much. I go out one day and it's leaning toward the left, the next day it's leaning toward the right. So, I'll let everyone know how they ride in the next couple of weeks.

  11. today, I was driving my truck and while sitting at a stoplight, one of the 10 amp fuses blew (igntn2). My truck then proceeds to drive in only one gear (2nd, I believe). I then pull over at a gas station, thinking that I was out of gas. Turned out that the fuse must control that circuit. My question is have any of you all dealt with this problem before? Because the thing keeps blowing these fuses.
