  1. I just got new rims...They came off a 85 K-5 Blazer, they are 15 by 10.5 or 11...what width tire will fit on these...I want to run either a 31 or 32x11.5x15, can I use an 11.5 wide tire.

They are way too wide for a 11" wide tire - you should look for a 7-8" wide rim. Your front end will be much happier.

  2. I'm not trying to "seem smart" I'm simply stating that you cannot get more energy out of something then you put in, so there is no way to improve your fuel mileage. Why would I bother wasting time and money on something that is obviously a scam. Why don't I try the fuel line magnets while I'm at it...

If you KNOW people who are running these and are showing good results they must have changed their driving habits since installing...

From what I have been reading the hydroxy works as a combustion aid allowing a more complete burn of the gasoline therefore equaling a higher volumetric efficiency. As a result you can lean out your air to fuel mixture = less fuel used = higher mpg. Similar to running propane injection on a diesel motor. The cells in this discussion draw 10-20 amps to run so even if you upgrade your alternator to a maxima or quest one you will still gain mpg because your hp to run the higher amperage alternator won't negate the decrease in fuel usage. Lets say you gain 5mpg from adding the hydroxy but lose 1mpg from having to drive your alternator harder, you still net 4mpg.

  3. the thought of hydrogen in something I am going to use offroad quite frankly has my hair standing on end . I have visions of the first guys trying to fly jumping off cliffs with kites strapped to their backs . However the first gas engines were called internal explosion engines by the steam power guys so maybe it's not as dangerous as I am thinking. Good luck .

What are your plans for fooling your O2 sensor? I'm thinking of running one of these: http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lc1.php

  4. Just read this as well... meh.

I'm confused as to just what line they are talking about *shrugs* and I can't seem to find an image of a Vac Line for a VG30E engine... is it the one just before the throttle body, the one just after, or am I really out of the ballpark?

I just pulled the vacuum hose off of my brake booster and poured it in slowly.

  5. the tire will rub against the inside of the wheelwell and possible the side of the frame when it is tucked. If you have an automatic transmission, they might make your OD gear useless depending on what gears you have. Mine barely gets into OD unless the ground is nice and flat and the winds are low. i am 3" suspension lift and 3" body lift like Simon only i have 33x12.5" tires (a tiny bit smaller). I have 15x8" wheels with 3 3/4" backspacing and i had to do lots of trimming and mine still rub. a 33x10.5 tire on the stock lego wheels or 15x8 with neutral backspacing would probably be a nice fit.

I guess I'll just wait until September for a 33x10.5 BFG MT KM2 to come out. I was considering 255/85R16 Toyo MT's.

    Thanks

  6. I can pretty much guarantee you'll be rubbing with any width 34" tire unless you're willing to cut metal. ]

32" is about the max you can get away with, regardless of lift. Unless you're just posing on the pavement....

I'm willing to try with a 7" rim and stock back-spacing.

  7. You set on this size or how about 285/75/16 34x11.25.

I could do that too but I'm hoping to get away with less lift and trimming by running a narrower tire.

  8. So it seems like allot of you guys are running without mufflers or glass packs - how do you get around the BLM cops? Everytime I have been wheeling in Washington in the spring/summer the BLM are always camped out at the trail heads and not letting trucks in without spark-arresting mufflers. BTW I'm not a fan of loud exhaust on 4's and 6's.

  9. welcome to the family. and the modding bug will bite FAST ;)

It's funny you say that. The bug has bitten already. But this rig will stay conservative - no SAS or big meats.

    I'm in Coquitlam.

  10. You sure? I had OD disabled today to test and it still did 5 total shifts up to 75 MPH before I re-enabled it (I had to make a mad dash onto the highway due to heavy traffic)... 1st up to 30 mph (5.5k rpm), 2nd up to 55(from 5.5k down to 3.5k, back up to 5.5k), 3rd up to 70 (as I started to let off the throttle a bit, from 5.5k down to 4.5k), HUGE drop in RPM (from 4.5k down to 3.5k)(TC I assume), then one final drop, from 3.5k down to 3.0 as I slowed back down to 65 mph... *shrugs* Aren't exact numbers -- I was more concerned about the mac truck running up my arse end XD I then re-enabled OD and it dropped another 500 or so RPM and leveld at 2.5k rpm @ 65 MPH

I'll actually test it tonight on the way home.

5 shifts up? You are probably seeing the TC lock up in 3rd as well.
