  1. yeah i actually did 1 half turn per bolt then moved on but i have figured out the perfect way to press it in. my harmonic balancer pully, i am going to bolt it on to the fly wheel with some longer blots and press it in. i was told that it should just fit in and it will shrink after u press it in but it is safer then using a socket and tapping it in like it says in the book. i will keep everyone updated as i am going to do this in the morning when i come home from work. the crappy part is i noticed today the is a drip coming fronm the water pump. just a little drop in it but oh well i wanted to do the timing on it anyways so sweet. the good thing is i have done 7 timing belts on pathfinders, i have it down to about 1 1/2 hours to 3 hours lol. but i cheat something awful.
  2. no it came right out of a exedy clutch kit but i will try the small block of wood on the new 1. i got it today so if it ever stops snowing lol...
  3. hey everyone, well i am back i am now on my fourth pathy but this 1 is different it is a pathy and i have never done a clutch on this type of vehicle. i have done 2 on a ford explorer but never on any of my pathies. i have everything unhooked , tranny out and old clutch off. i took and decided to change the pilot bushing ( bad mistake). it has -40 celcius here while i am doing it in my driveway so i am in and out all the time staying warm. i left the clutch kit in the house till i was ready to install everything and of course i go out to install the pilot bushing and it is really tight. so i got it in and then put the clutch back in. i used the alignment tool but i had to tap the alignment tool in now the tranny spline wont go into the opening. please help any suggestions? i have ordered in a pilot bushing in case it is the wrong one but is there a easy way to put the pilot bearing/bushing back in . i have used a 15 mil socket and tapped it in but it was really hard to get in. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
  4. ok now that is a good point crap of course i try to sound smart then cant spell brain
  5. LOL blind dam i have had 2 pathfinders inthe last year the first 1 was a 89 exact same truck i and i could shift from 2 wheel to 4 hi under 45 kmh no problem same as this 1 when i got it so if u dont have any useful knowledge for me then well dont reply. i have been working on cars and trucks for 16 years i know when something is wrong. did u not understand my messsage then maybe i should ask and explain a little simpler when driving i used to be able to shift on the fly now i can't i have to stop or i get big clunks in the transfer case or maybe in the front diff. i am just wondering if anyone in a pathfinfder forum might have had this issue before. for the person who sent the link about the dummy how didn't know how to shift into 4 hi then 4 lo that information is not useful as i have a brian and know how to shift the problem is instead of being able to shift from 2 to 4hi on the fly now i have to stop and shift but i tell i know when i am in 4 lo and wow it works good
  6. i hate having to ask these questions as i am a pretty intelligent guy who has took apart my transfer case ond cleaned it out on my other pathfinder which was a 89 and i rebult half of this 1 but i think i have some problems. when i am about to get in the truck and go for a ride i either have to put it into 4 hi then back to 2 or when i need to put it into 4 hi i have to stop. i have never have this problem with any of my otherpathfinders but hi now i do. it is now getting worse also as i get as clunk even going at about 5 mph. i dont think this is good lol but my fluids where all changed about 800 miles ago and the u joints look fine, the driveshaft's are snug with no play? i am almost ready to sell it if i cant fix it any ideas?
