  1. Never Mind--I got it. Just put a normal flat blade screwdriver in the little gap at the bottom of each side and it pops right out. It's held in place by two spring clips on each end. EZPZ. ------------ My 1996 XE has this cross bar with some sort of roll out cover presumably to pull over stuff in the back. The bar is wedged into the plastic on both sides. I tried using a deadblow hammer to knock it up and out. It wouldn't budge. I don't see any obvious release buttons..or mounting screws. How the heck do I get it out?
  2. GREAT IDEA, R50JR. I will go take a look and a photo or two.
  3. Howdy, I've always carried a fire extinguisher in every vehicle I've ever owned starting with a 1939 Chevy when I was a kid. Of course, I can carry one loose in my 1996 XE but I am curious as to your ideas about mounting one somewhere in the cabin. It may not be practical but I thought I'd ask anyway. THANK YOU! John Parsons, Idaho Falls.
  4. Howdy, I'm getting consistent quotes of $1,000 for a new clutch for my R50 XE 5-spd. Seems high but everyone tells me it's not. What are your thoughts? Thanks, John Parsons, Idaho Falls
  5. WOW, Thanks, Adamzan! That's the EZPZ-iest way to tell I've yet heard and makes perfect sense. That's very COOL and, from this day forward I am claiming I have an XE. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
  6. There are numerous threads on this forum regarding how to tell which model you have. I've read most of them and am STILL CONFUSED! You'd think it would be pretty simple, right? Wrong! OK, I've run the VIN through several VIN decoders--no luck. I've studied the door panels--no luck. There are no external badges. It has chrome wheels, a top rack and is a manual tranny w/4WD. Guessing it's either an XE or an SE so now it's YOUR TURN! THANK YOU for chewing on the same old topic yet once again! John Parsons, Idaho Falls.
