I just got new tints for my pathy and I'm noticing that in the mornings the auto light sensor is turning on my headlights when there is already enough sunlight out, just curious if you can adjust the sensitivity for them. If not then I guess I got morning-time running lights then haha

I'm pretty sure just an allignment at a tire shop will fix your issue. My girlfriends sentra did the same so I took it to get alligned and the steering wheel went back to normal.

Shock and Coil assembly recommendations
r50loverPR replied to r50loverPR's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thank you! My mom found some old receipts from when she had it and it turns out she actually had kyb shocks with a lifetime warranty for both front and rear (front from advance and rear from pepboys). Unfortunately advance doesn't bring kyb anymore so they told me that they could exchange it for Monroe shocks and pepboys has leased out their retail stores to autozone where I live so they told me I could call HQ and they could give me the moneys worth at least. So I'm probably gonna order some kyb's for the rear and just get the monroes for the front if they're any good. Are the monroes good at least? -
I feel like my pathy has been riding pretty rough in the front recently so I've been looking at replacing the shocks and coils. I don't have any spring compressors and also don't feel like having that headache so I've been looking at assemblies on Rockauto and Amazon. The ones on Amazon mostly look unreliable so I'm pretty sure I will avoid those, but on Rockauto there seems to be a few that seem good. I'm not sure which one will be the best choice though. For some added context I don't do too much offroading besides the occasional camping trip and my university's dirt parking lot if you can count that haha. Roads here also have a lot of potholes. Also is there any other parts you would recommend me to change out in the moment when everything is disassembled?

Windshield Wiper fluid reservoir
r50loverPR replied to r50loverPR's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
So I reconnected everything and found the leak was coming from one of the hoses. I replaced them and then found that the nozzles are also super clogged up, I tried a pin, using an old hose and sucking whatever is in there out and nothing. So I guess I'll try and find some at a junkyard or ordering a universal one somewhere. -
Windshield Wiper fluid reservoir
r50loverPR replied to r50loverPR's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thank you! I managed to get it out without any issue but as I was taking it out I realized it wasn't leaking from where I thought it was haha. I'm pretty confused since it started leaking as I filled it up but the reservoir isn't leaking. Either way I took it out to clean it since it looks like there's a bit of decade old washer fluid and it looks pretty nasty. -
I'm pretty sure my windshield wiper reservoir has a hole near the bottom and I'm planning on taking it out to patch it. Just looking at it from the top it looks like I think I just need to take out the headlight assembly which I already know how to do. I just want to be sure there isn't some sneaky part blocking a screw before I go at it. Anyone else take out their wiper fluid reservoir before?

Hey guys, so I've recently been trying to replace some of the interior lights with LED as the old ones were on their way out. So far I've swapped out the speedometer and tachometer side lights on the instrument cluster (I used too much force on the mileage socket while trying to take the old bulb out and destroyed it whoops), and the HVAC controls. Now I'm curious whether or not its possible to change the lights on the light controls (circled in blue in case I don't explain myself well) as well as on the window controls. This one isn't mine btw, just didn't have a photo of that on hand.

So my pathfinder has had the code P1130 (swirl control valve solenoid) for a while, a mechanic and I have changed various parts and nothing seemed to stick so I decided to take it to another one to get a second opinion. After waiting 2 weeks he finally gets back to me and says the fuel injection pressure damper is whats causing it. Now obviously I'm not an experienced mechanic but from what I've read on the factory service manual and from other posts related to P1130 I don't see how this can have any correlation to the code. What I understand from the surface level diagnostic I performed was that the swirl control valve wasn't getting switched off once the required conditions were met, that's why I'm confused about this new mechanics diagnostic. Should I proceed with the repair or am I getting scammed?

I'm changing my brake discs and pads for the first time and I managed to get the drivers side done but there is a siezed bolt on the caliper for the passenger side. I've tried an impact gun (my 19mm socket cracked from this), a 2 foot breaker bar (the bar broke at the head). I don't have a torch to heat it up so is there any other way I could try to get it out?

Awesome, thanks!

My glove box light is out and I'm trying to find a replacement online. When I search it up either nothing comes up or the whole little assembly. I know that actual bulb is removable so is it possible to find just a replacement for that or do I need to order the whole thing?

Thanks! Any recommendations on what I could buy or use for the 12V power supply to test the solenoid? Also the override is in the little hole at the top right of the shifter assembly right?
-
Hey guys! Recently my shifter has been getting stuck in park and I have to wiggle it a bunch to get it out of park. I looked a little online and some parts I found that could cause this are the brake light switch (already ruled this out since my brake lights turn on fine), a shifter solenoid, or the parking pawl. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? As always thank you guys

Dreaded P1130 code won't stay fixed
r50loverPR replied to r50loverPR's topic in 96-2004 R50 Pathfinders
Thank you guys for the advice. I'm guessing it is a ground issue but electrical stuff is a little out of my league so next week I'm taking it to an electromechanic I know. As for the hoses I saw they were a little toasted so I just swapped them out, issue still persists though so yeah haha.
