  1. Fuel pump doesnt turn off when the car is off. Also when i turn the key to off my car doesnt shut off. This is a new issue. Drove from laramie wyoming to bozeman montana- entire way my fuel pump would be on. the only way to turn my car off is to hold the break and release clutch. What i really want to know, is there a failsafe bypass to the Fuel Pump Relay where my car will short itself out to allow me to not be stranded if my relay quit out? Gonna run some diagnostics tomorrow, currently 4AM so i cant run to the store. Worst case am I still able to drive my car or should i fix it while I can? I have another 8+ hour drive to central washington aswell tomorrow. Gonna try to fix. If its not a bypass, im going to check for a short to ground. If it isnt that then is it a fauly fuel pump? Its one electrical fooksie after another with this POS. I loved my pathfinder just a minute ago.
  2. thanks for the info, didnt know they where different but that makes sense. Ill be sure to check ill be sure to come back to this thread and attach a picture if i get around to ever fixing it lol
  3. I just assumed they where. ive used d21 labeled stuff for my pathy. I put my car on the lift, engaged 4wd and found out that my front driveshaft spins, but my CVs do not. gonna say its something inside the diff, dont really care to see whats broke ill probably just replace it. planning on chevy 4.3 v6 drivetrain swap so I might be pulling it all out anyway.
  4. where you able to feel any damage when you press the clutch? ive heard burning clutch smells rubbery, this is almost a sweet musty smell. not sweet like coolant, but sweet like kinda just a sour smell. not gonna lie describing such smell is difficult. by sweet i dont mean sugary or sour smell i just mean lightly sweet with the smell of heat lol. yeah ive been typing this for 15 minutes trying to describe the smell. im working on getting to the bottom of this before i make a 2 day drive from wyoming to wa in 2 weeks so Im gonna be pretty feckin active on here lol
  5. I was having issues with one of the 2 threads idk which is which anymore tbh also yeah ima have to check the pinion/ ring teeth. as for diff, im probably just gonna go with the WD21 diff just because I wanna keep my car mostly wd21. plus i wont have fitment issues. just a R&R
  6. nope, no noise. I put the car on a lift and verified, my front driveshaft spins, my CVs do not. currently in school to be a technician, so I do have access to sources like shopkey and alldata but they are both rather usless when it comes to any information on my pathy. cheers to surviving a wyoming winter without 4wd.
  7. Haha, I wish it was because I was partying. I'm in a technical school learning to do this kinda stuff. but, i put it up on a lift and put it in gear and had my buddy verify that neither of the cv's where spinning however the driveshaft was moving. I appreciate the help this far lol
  8. its funny finding a post from my birth year especially when its made 11 days after I was born , who knew i'd eventually own this damn car. i bought mine with the trans whine, from my cousin, he said the trans has made that noise for 7 years. After buying it i drove from central Washington to the bottom right corner of Wyoming. so far so good its been 9 months in wyoming absolutely hot rodding the pathy, and now I get to drive back. gonna do a fluid change and hope it doesn't do its new "smoking while driving" feature. my 95' ford never made this noise
  9. Okay, so, got stuck in a mud pit and found out my 4wd does not work. Put my pathy on a lift, to find out my driveshaft spins, yet my CV axles do not. anybody able to save me some time? anybody with the 5spd manual experience a smoking through shift boot/smelly burning trans when going freeway/highway speeds for extended periods of time? I should really stop buying vehicles that "used to have" 4wd.
  10. sorry for the late reply, I forgot I existed. So, First off figured out my fuel issue, there was a pin connector i just took in and blew it out and everything works fine. As for my 4wd, you think its my diff? i had suspicion it was my vacuum line from motor to diff. Would that line by chance control the attachment of the diff to the cv? or do you think I have glitter soup in my diff?
  11. okay sounds good. Ill do some research. currently working out a fuel issue as well. My fuel gauge reads empty only when its cold outside but when its warm in the air it works fine. tryna unfskcerate it. also my pathfinder spins the front driveshaft, but my cv's dont spin. is that still a issue with my hubs you think?
  12. thanks for the quick reply, thats what I was lead too from what research ive done. Is it just a remove and replace or is there more that goes into it? im looking to buy manual hubs but im not trying to spend very much. all im finding i some cheap ebay junk and super expensive oreilly junk
  13. went into a mud pit after hyping my pathy up to my friends, had to be towed out By a Ford FKN Ranger because my 4wd wont engage. symptoms: no workie Concerns: 4wd Light comes on shifter feels fine, stuck in mud my friends said my fronts weren't spinning. even when I was mobile. So I test on dry pavement, shift through 2wd and 4wd and nothing feel wise, changes. you know how you can feel 4wd? yeah no. I cant. anybody got any ideas?
