I should also mention that I am now testing 12vdc at the wiper motor.

Problem fixed! After replacing the Amp (again) I traced a short at the wiper motor gearbox. Where the mechanical switching contact is. After a lot of fault finding, stripping down said gearbox and finding nothing wrong there, tracing wiring out, finding nothing. I discovered I had transposed the gearbox wiringFFS! Anyways all is working as it should. Bring on Wednesday!!!!! Thanks heaps for your help @Slartibartfast

I thought 5v was low too. I wondered too if that was because of load on the circuit before it arrives at the motor and perhaps you are switching to ground when activating the wiper. I would love to know if anyone else out there could confirm the voltage at the motor (disconnected and testing of the wire terminal). Meanwhile I will be installing the correct fuse and digging up another amp and as you suggested Slartibartfast, checking the mechanics and operational status of the motor itself. Hoping to have it done by Wednesday as I have booked a roadworthy inspection!!! Hahashhh#t!

Today I got a replacement amp from the wrecker. Finally got voltage at the motor (about 5vdc). The wiper moved a tiny bit. I managed to help it along until it moved by its self. Figuring the wiper might be sized a little I switched off the ignition, leaving the wiper in the verticals position. No worries, switch the Ignition back on and nothing. No movement, no voltage. I have now pin pointed the right fuse position in the fuse box and wouldn’t you know it? 20A fuse! So I am guessing I now need another rear wiper amp… …sheesh!

Aye Thanks mate! Did find the Amp! I have started testing for voltages at the wiper motor (none of the volts found) and working my way back. Having the matching colours on the wiring diagram will help so I will be sure to check your suggestions! The resistance readings I was getting at the tan coloured box didn’t make sense, which made me think I was on the wrong track. The hatch sensor is working so now to check the correct Amp. Now that I know where it is. thanks heaps!

Howdy all. Kinda new here. Bringing this thread back as it seems preferable to starting a new one. I am trying to get my rear wiper functioning as it wasn’t working when I recently purchased it. So, I wonder if anyone can tell me where I can find a rear wiper wiring diagram for a 1991 Terrano. Also, I am pretty sure I found the relay behind inspection panel in the rear cargo space. But where is the Amplifier? Is it the tan box attached to front wiper motor in the engine bay? Trying to follow a wiring diagram from a 1994 Pathfinder (I think) but the cable colouring is different. Any help would be awesome. I have tried searching. Not sure if am doing it right, but this thread is the closest I could find. Many thanks Marke.

Hi everyone! After years of keeping an eye out for a two door Pathfinder/Terrano, I had always hoped I would find ‘the one!’ You know, the one that was forgotten about in the back of the shed. Better yet, the one owned from new by the one person and meticulously maintained. Well, not too long ago i bought a 1991 (TD27) Terrano that isn’t far off the mark. With only 150k (kilometres) on the clock and in pristine condition inside and out this one drives and presents nearly as new. Not mention the exterior paint and graphics are freaking awesome! Pretty sure (happy to be corrected) there are no mods (apart from the front nudge bar and light bar) and is as stock as it was from the dealer. So anyways, my name is Marke.
